I had this beautiful XC Cobra on the dyno at PowerHouse Engines yesterday. It came in with some low oil pressure concerns at idle once it got up to temp after a short stint at highway speeds. The first stop would indicate very low oil pressure on the factory gauge at idle. After installing a remote mechanical gauge as a cross reference it indicated that oil pressure was perfect, pointing to a false reading in the car. A new sender unit was installed, problem solved and more happy motoring ahead!

I recently dyno tuned this beautiful 1967 Ford Mustang Coupe at PowerHouse Engines. Its mild 347 Windsor required a good going over with a carb rejet and due to its high compression ratio it required a full distributor advance curve recurve to suit. Runs like a dream now and made 269hp at the wheels.

I recently dyno tuned this spectacular little 1979 Chrysler Lancer at PowerHouse Engines. It’s powered by a 1.6lt 4G32, sporting dual 40mm Weber DCOE carbs, mild camshaft and increased compression ratio. It came in running pretty rough but a thorough tune with full carb synchronisation, rejet, tweak and ignition timing optimisation it now runs and performs like a dream. Whilst its not intended to be a race engine, it still pumps out a healthy 94hp at the wheels and feels very potent on the road, complimented by a pretty cool induction roar!

Did you know that I also tune Diesels Old and New at PowerHouse Engines!
A little off my normal topic but I fell in love with this beautiful old HJ47 that came in recently and just had to show you.

It’s in incredible condition, a real survivor.
Lachie the owner, an auto electrician from Beaconsfeild, installed a really neat Turbocharger kit to the original 2H Engine.
It was in desperate need of tuning and lacking the required amount of fuel needed to fire it into life with a dose of boost now entering the engine. It would barely climb a hill! That was then and this is now after tuning! You’ll notice on the dyno before and after comparison that its gained 70% power in the top end and over 50% torque in the low end after I worked some magic on the pump! Now it accelerates up hills and not just down them. Confirmed on the test drive by yours truly! She’s now a rocketship. 🚀 😁💪🏻

I recently dyno tuned this spectacular HR Holden at PowerHouse Engines. The owner built its 186 Holden Red, sporting an HSD Irving Head, mid range solid camshaft, triple 45mm Webers and ICE Ignition. We performed some comprehensive tuning, optimised ignition timing and curve, swapped the carb chokes/venturis out to 36mm from 34mm, synchronised the carbs and optimised jetting. We gained nearly 30hp at the wheels while improving drivability and low end performance. He was hoping for around 250hp at the engine which is well on target with over 190hp at the wheels achieved. Next he wants to build a 202 bottom end with more compression and a more aggressive camshaft in an effort to surpass 300hp at the engine.
