Thanks to the feedback shared by MAV members and Victorian teachers MAV’s submission helped shape the outcomes of the recent independent VCAA Review. We’ve published a concise summary of the recommendations and traced where member input made a clear impact.

🎓 The University of Melbourne is Seeking Students Aged 7–13 for a Research Study

The Melbourne School of Psychological Sciences is conducting a study exploring how children think about their own thinking – also known as metacognition.

We are inviting students aged 7 to 13 (Years 2–7) to take part in a short, engaging interview about how they learn and approach challenges in the classroom.

🧠 What’s involved?
• A 30–40 minute conversation with a researcher
• No preparation required
• Scheduled at a time that suits you and your child

Applications are now open for the AMSI Foundation Yuille-Umbers Female Specialist Maths High School Scholarships!

The purpose of these scholarships is to encourage and support female students in Victoria in their study of VCE Specialist Mathematics in Years 11 and 12. The aim is to support students experiencing disadvantage and/or financial need, who are studying at a school with low socio-educational advantage.

The recipients will receive a scholarship of $3,000 each year, for both year 11 and 12.

We're proud to share some exciting highlights from the Australasian Society of Association Executives ACE Conference:

● Our CEO has earned the 𝗖𝗲𝗿𝘁𝗶𝗳𝗶𝗲𝗱 𝗔𝘀𝘀𝗼𝗰𝗶𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗘𝘅𝗲𝗰𝘂𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 (𝗖𝗔𝗘) credential - one of only 58 CAEs in Australia!
● She co-presented at AuSAE ACE, with fellow CAE, Joanne Phillips, helping more professionals explore the CAE pathway.
● AuSAE unveiled its new 𝗔𝗜 𝗞𝗻𝗼𝘄𝗹𝗲𝗱𝗴𝗲 𝗔𝘀𝘀𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗻𝘁, named in honour of a long-time MAV leader and Life Member, Simon Pryor
