RMITV RMITV is a not-for-profit independent media production group and community access television product

RMITV is a department of RUSU (RMIT University Student Union). We operate as a student television production facility based at RMIT University City Campus in Melbourne, Australia. We are one of the founding members of the Melbourne Community Television Consortium; the not-for-profit consortium that operates the community access channel Channel 31 in Melbourne. RMITV is committed to producing high

quality, innovative and entertaining programs, whilst providing practical media experience for RMIT students and the wider community. RMITV is the oldest community television organization in Australia and out of the MCTC’s 40 member groups, RMITV is the largest producer of community television content. We endeavour to help young, often first-time producers realise their goals and dreams in the complicated yet fulfilling area of television production. We have a long history of successful producers and practitioners moving into professional employment within the Australian television industry. Our list of alumni shows that RMITV is highly regarded in the film and television industry. Our alumni include; Rove (Roving Enterprises), Peter Hellier, Corrine Grant, Hamish & Andy (Fox FM), Shona Devlin (JTV - Triple J), and Andrew Tacon (Foxtel). Many of our past crew members have progressed to the industry, working for the ABC, J-TV, The Einstein Factor, Network Ten, Jonathan M Shiff Productions, Toombak, Indigenous Production, Videoworks, Staging Connections, The David Letterman Show, Fox TV and on recent films such as Charlottes Web, Irresistible, and Kenny.

Thank you very much RMITV board and I rise to introduce the motion by the RMITV community.

And in doing so, I say to RMITV members that the RMITV Annual General Meeting is coming up and we are excited. We. Are. Excited.
And we never ignore the chance to improve the future of RMITV.
Not now. Not ever!

Some members may say “there already is a board to decide things”. Well I hope those people have a piece of paper and are writing ideas to be involved!

Couldn’t have said it better Julia.
👩‍⚖️help decide the future of RMITV at the AGM on Wednesday the 17th of May at 6PM. Free food!
