⚠️🛠️Upcoming pedestrian crossing works - Main Street, Bacchus Marsh 🛠️⚠️

Starting from this Sunday 15 February, construction works will begin of four raised pedestrian crossings on Main Street, Bacchus Marsh.

🚶Three existing zebra crossings on Main St will be upgraded to asphalt raised pedestrian crossings and a new raised crossing, west of the Main and Young St intersection, will be installed.

🚲These works aim to reduce the risk of high-severity pedestrian and bike rider crashes, provide better visibility and reduce the speed of approaching vehicles, and provide greater connectivity to pedestrian and cycling routes in Bacchus Marsh.

This project is being delivered as part of the State Government's Safe System Pedestrian Infrastructure Program, managed by Transport Victoria.

⏰🌙To minimise impacts to businesses, residents and the wider community, works will be undertaken at night, from Sunday to Thursday between 9pm and 7am.

Traffic management, including a reduced speed limit, will be in place during construction to protect the safety of crews and road users.

Please note: dates and timeframes of these works are dependent on a range of factors, including favourable weather and site conditions.

Crews will aim to minimise delays and access impacts as much as possible. The contractor will contact impacted residents or businesses about temporary access changes, if required.

This includes Melbourne trains, trams and buses; and regional trains, coaches and buses.

If you’re travelling regionally, there is a few things to keep in mind:
- Travel must be within Victoria (with a few cross-border exceptions like Albury, Mount Gambier and Deniliquin)
- No seat reservations on V/Line trains
- Some coach services still require a reservation
