2024 in Review : A Year of Adventures, Challenges & Growth ✨

I decided to turn my “December moments of my life abroad in Melbourne” into a yearly review. What a year 2024 has been!

I took the month of January to reflect on the past year and I finally feel ready to tackle the new year. That’s why I’m posting my 2024 review so late ☺️ If there’s one thing 2024 has taught me, it’s to live at your own pace. Not everyone’s timing is the same and it’s okay🙏

From hiking at sunrise in Wilson’s Promontory to going back into a 9-5 office job (after 2 years of self employment), it was a year of stepping out of my comfort zone, chasing solo adventures, and learning so much along the way.

Some highlights from 2024:
⛰️ Visited new places across Victoria: the High Country and the Grampians ranking as my favourites this year.
🛁 Two of the best unique stay I found in 2024 around Melbourne : The Nest & .tinyhouse
🏡 Moved in/out 11 time in a year 😅 yes you read correctly ! I did a good amount of pet sitting around Melbourne and finally settle down to a new apartment in late November.
🇫🇷 Travelled back to my home country and went on a short solo van trip around Britanny & Normandy.
🍝 Visited a new country: Italy - during a short mum/daughter weekend
👯‍♀️ Put my focus on building new connections and strengthening friendships
🎈 The best experience I did: hot air balloon above the Yarra Valley with

But it wasn’t all perfect. This year also reminded me of the challenges that come with living abroad—like missing family during the holidays, feeling lonely in difficult moments, juggling with mental health or the struggle of building a strong support system

Thank you to everyone who’s followed along and supported my journey. Your messages, tips, and kind words mean the world 💙

What’s next in 2025? More adventures around Melbourne (and around the world 🤗), new discoveries, and sharing more of what makes life abroad so special.

Let me know your highlight of 2024 and your 2025 plans in the comments—I’d love to hear it. 🙌

November moments of living abroad in Australia 🇦🇺

November has been a VERY chaotic month between life & health challenging situations, moving into a new place but also celebrating my birthday, once in a lifetime experiences and summer finally arriving in Melbourne.

In the chaos of life, here are some of my favourite little (and big) moments from last month :

1. Lost in the woods of Warburton Redwood forest
2. Melbourne’s weather has finally caught up and the drive home from the office is as pleasant as ever 🏖️
3. 30+1 birthday couldn’t get any better than this: a whole week of celebration thanks to my best friend and now new housemate🥰
4. Am I denying that I’m 31 and no longer 30? Noooooo 😂
5. Just a little guy living the dream 🐶 🚌
6. Moved to a new place - this balcony view is just WOW 🤩
7. How good to have an outdoor pool in my building 🏙️
8. Went to see at Live in the Gardens. After years of wanting to see him live, it finally happened and it was absolutely amazing!
9. I stayed in the prettiest little house in the Yarra Valley .stays
10. Last but not least, I experienced one of the best activities I could have dreamed of 🎈 Flying over the Yarra Valley in a hot air balloon was truly magical.

Postcard from Mont Saint Michel 🏰🇫🇷

Situated in Normandy, this magical tidal island is a well-known tourist destination as well as being an important place of pilgrimage. 🙏

Mont Saint Michel is certainly one of the most astonishing sites in France.

1. Sunset over Mont Saint Michel from the Meandres
2. One of many narrow, cobbled streets in the village of Mont Saint Michel.
3. Built on the top and side of a rock, this fortress-like abbey is an architectural masterpiece.
4. Detail on the statue of Archangel Michael that adorns the top of the spire at the abbey church.
5. The view of the Meandres from above is my favourite 🤩
6. No photo can capture the immensity of this place.

This iconic place has inspired many filmmakers, did you recognise it from any of these films ?

EVERYTING YOU NEED TO KNOW BEFORE VISITING MALAMALA BEACH CLUB IN FIJI 🇫🇯

Fiji is home to the world’s first beach club situated on its very own island! Located in the Mamanuca Islands, Malamala Beach club is the perfect day trip to escape and unwind on a paradise island 🏝️

🛥️ Just 25 min from Port Denaurau, it’s one of the easiest island to access from the mainland.

🎶 Modern beach club with upbeat music, premium bar & restaurant

🍸 Amazing cocktails with a special offer of 5 cocktails for $99 FJD.
Food & drinks are a bit more pricy than on the mainland - but I mean it’s a private island so !

💦 The most stunning infinity pool overlooking the ocean

🤿 Plenty of activities available: snorkelling, kayaking, standup paddle

😎To relax, there’s some comfy beach chair available for free. But you can also hire daybeds or private cabana for a fee.

💲Half day cost $159 FJD for 4-hour trip and full day pass cost $179 FJD for 7 hours.
I highly recommend to go for the full day!!
Please note: book in advance to secure your spot.

Beautiful views of blue waters, white sands & sand dune, what else do you need ?! 🏖️🌊

📍 One Mile Beach, Forster NSW

The 4km bicentennial nature walk is perfect to admire the stretch of Forster’s coastline: swim at the popular 'Tanks', spot dolphins/whales at Bennett Head lookout before reaching One Mile Beach sand dune and walk down on the beach to another secluded one: Burgess Beach

HOW TO VISIT HORSE HEAD ROCK (+ how to find the rockpool) 👇

The NSW coastline is absolutely fantastic and Bermagui is no exception. Located on the Sapphire Coast, this small town is home to the famous Horse Head Rock: one of New South Wales oldest rocks, around 500 million years old.

Its distinctive horses head shape makes it truly special and well worth adding to your NSW itinerary. Here’s everything you need to know to access it before visiting :

🥾 By the walking track
From the car park, head for the 1.5km return track that leads to the upper viewing platform. It’s an easy walk and takes you to the top of the cliffs, where you can admire the famous rock and the beautiful Pebbly Beach from above at Murunna Point.

🏖️ By the beach
To reach it from the beach (and ultimately enjoy the rock pools), you’ll need to plan ahead as it’s only accessible at low tide.
From Camel Rock Surf Beach, walk along the rocks on the left-hand side for about 200m before reaching Horse Head Rock. You’ll find numerous rock pools along the way and around the rock formation.

🌊The access from the beach is NOT accessible at high tide so be sure to check tide conditions before you go. Allow plenty of time to go there and come back before the tide start rising again.

🚘 For both option, park at the Camel Rock Surf Beach Carpark

Is this place on your NSW bucket list?
