In this weeks pre-Intensive satsang, Swami Shankarananda discussed his Guru, Baba Muktananda. In this talk, Swamiji read an article he wrote for Baba's ashram magazine for Guru Purnima in 1976 on the true purpose and meaning of the Guru. Swamiji also read from several Q&A's between Baba and his devotees on having multiple Guru's and the concept of spiritual ego.
At the end of this satsang talk, Devi Ma read from Baba's own devotional writings dedicated to his Guru, Bhagavan Nityananda.

In this week's satsang, Swami Shakarananda officially opened The Ashram's Winter Retreat with a talk dedicated to the esoteric sage and founder of his lineage, Bhagavan Nityananda. In this talk, Swamiji read from writings of Bhagavan's disciple, Baba Muktananda, spoke about his life and deciphered his abstract teachings on spiritual topics such as devotion, cultivating awareness and the concept of consciousness.

In this talk, Swamiji expanded on the teachings given to Lord Ram by the great sage, Vasistha on spiritual concepts such as bo***ge and liberation, maya, cravings and fears, and the effect that attitude has on our minds.

In this very special satsang, Swami Shankarananda shared his own personal writings from the last thirty years on various spiritual topics. Inspired by the column he wrote for the ashram magazine during his time with his teacher, Swamiji discusses his notes on the essence of Kashmir Shaivism, acting from the Self, understanding the purpose of suffering and finding stability in the Self. This talk also includes many dharana's (meditations) on Kashmir Shaivism, matrikas and an experiment with cranio osteopathy meditation.

This week at satsang, Swami Shankarananda read from questions and answers with his own teacher, the great Siddha master Baba Muktananda. The questions were on topics including; worshiping God through love and devotion, regardless of your religion; the relationship with the Guru; mantra repetition; feeling a pressure in the head when meditating; what to do when confronted with violence or aggression.

In the second part of his Question and Answer satsang series, Swamiji answered the remaining questions sent in by devotees from all over the world. Swamiji also spoke about self-acceptance and tearing thoughts, the mysterious principle of God, Guru and Self, satisfying personal desires in sadhana, the relationship between Shakti and wisdom, raising the vibration of your language and more.

This week in satsang, inspired by the recent retreat on the same topic, Swami Shankarananda gave a talk on the ancient Kashmir Shaivism principle of spanda. In this talk, Swamiji explored how we as yogis can get in touch with this principle and how it can show up in our inner world. Swamiji also discussed the thirty-six tattvas, Consciousness and the West’s opposition to the concept, the Shiva/Shakti relationship and the idea of embracing the world in our spiritual life.

In this weeks satsang talk, Swami Shankarananda delivered a wonderful talk on the Zen Buddhist tradition as well as some of his own 'considerations' and thoughts from a series of writings which Guruji affectionately calls 'Noted From the Tea Shop'.
From his own writings, Guruji covered several teachings on the concept of living in two worlds, the ego and attachment and aversion. In the second part of the talk on Zen, Guruji expanded on many different teachings such as how different religions and beliefs came to be, reincarnation, 'zazen' meditation and accepting the now.
At the end of this podcast, Devi Ma takes us into meditation with a beautiful slow chant of the mantra 'Om Namah Shivaya'.

While reading from one of Baba's Shivaratri talks from 1978, Guruji discusses Baba's teachings on the underlying principals of the universe, the importance of turning inside and discovering your inner 'Shiva nature' and the power of mantra repetition.
