The 2025 Train & Hobby Show: A Spectacular Showcase of Passion, Innovation, and Community!
The 2025 Train & Hobby Show, held last weekend, truly set the bar for what an exhibition should be. It was, without a doubt, one of the biggest, most diverse, and best-attended events we've seen anywhere in Australia. With over 80 outstanding displays and exhibits, the show featured a stunning array of more than 36 operational model railway layouts, making it a must-visit event for enthusiasts of all ages.
A true celebration of everything from model railways to RC planes, trucks, and tanks, this year’s show had something for everyone. For LEGO lovers, we proudly showcased two of the largest and most impressive LEGO displays seen at any exhibition. But that was just the start. Visitors also experienced a rich variety of other hobbies, including retro computers, gaming, flight simulators, live steam displays, and even a Trackless Thomas! The diversity was incredible, providing a comprehensive experience for hobbyists from all walks of life.
The event was bolstered by a wide range of exhibitors, with clubs, retailers, and manufacturers representing Queensland, New South Wales, South Australia, Tasmania, and Victoria. It was a true testament to the strong and vibrant hobby community in Australia, with all participants showcasing their passion for preserving and promoting these incredible hobbies. Among the many contributors, we were delighted to have the Grampians Model Railroaders, Waverly MRC, Sunshine MRC, Sunbury MRC, and countless others presenting their skills and dedication to the craft.
Even in the face of changing weather, with a scorching first day followed by a cold and wet second, the crowds turned out in full force, proving that nothing could stop hobbyists from coming together to celebrate the Train & Hobby Show. The event itself was held in a prime location, complete with free parking, an air-conditioned venue, carpeted floors, and excellent lighting—all of which contributed to the comfort and accessibility for all visitors. It’s safe to say the venue itself was as welcoming as the community it housed.
We’d like to extend a special thank you to all who attended, supported, and made this event a truly great success. A heartfelt thank you goes to the exhibitors, including the dedicated clubs, passionate manufacturers, and skilled traders who helped bring the event to life. We encourage all attendees and hobbyists to continue supporting these businesses and clubs who do so much for the hobby community, including Auscision, Modellers Warehouse, Behind the Tracks, Sonic Tools, and many others.
It was truly an Australian Train & Hobby Show to remember—and for those who missed out, we promise this spectacular event only comes once a year. We can’t wait to do it all again in 2026!
Thank you for making this year’s Train & Hobby Show one for the record books!
