We'll visit the highlights of the capital city, Dili, before embarking on a journey of discovery into the jungles where traditional cultures take a front seat and we are part of it.

This is more than an adventure ride, this is a living cultural history lesson that has a deep connection to Australia. Exploring Timor-Leste is something that every adventurous rider, or traveller, should do at least once ... it won't disappoint.

As 2025 draws to a close, it feels right to pause and truly reflect on what an extraordinary year it’s been at TRAVERSE.

Over the past twelve months, our riders, contributors, friends have reached every corner of the globe — Australia, Canada, the Canary Islands, Costa Rica, Fiji, India, Indonesia, Italy, Kyrgyzstan, Mongolia, Morocco, Nepal, New Zealand, Nicaragua, Pakistan, Panama, Peru, Scotland, Sicily, Sri Lanka, Timor-Leste, Vietnam, and many places in between. Each destination offered something different: new landscapes, unfamiliar languages, shared meals, challenging roads, and moments that will stay with us for a lifetime.

Yet despite the differences in geography, culture, religion, and background, one truth remained constant. Wherever our riders went, they were met with warmth, generosity, and humanity. Time and again, strangers became hosts, helpers, and friends. These journeys reminded us that beyond borders and belief systems, the human spirit is resilient, kind, and deeply welcoming to those who travel with openness and respect.

As we welcome 2026, we do so with optimism and intent. A new year invites new adventures, deeper discovery, and the courage to see the world as it truly is — not as it’s often portrayed. Not filtered through politics, fear-driven headlines, or the prejudice that too easily spreads online, but through real experience, face-to-face connection, and shared understanding.

Here’s to a year of curiosity over judgement.
Of movement over fear.
Of choosing the long road, asking questions, and discovering for ourselves what the world has always been — complex, challenging, and overwhelmingly human.

Farewell 2025.
Welcome 2026. Let’s keep moving.
