Some of my favourite portraits from the Australian Accordion Festival. I've realised that accordions are especially photogenic instruments. The concert's final act Vardos in particular had so much energy that it was hard to find them still long enough to get focus!

🪗 Had a fantastic time photographing the Accordion Society of Australia’s Festival in Kensington. These guys put on a phenomenal show full of live acts and workshops. The highlight was easily the massive accordion orchestra with more than 20 players; it’s an amazing sound.

🎻 Recording the Inner West Symphony Orchestra's inaugural concert at Williamstown Town Hall, Australia. Large concert halls are quite rare here in western Victoria, however Williamstown hall is *huge* and it's relatively old construction gives a warm, spacious sound.

This excerpt of Elgar's Enigma Variations really stood out; it's hard to believe that this sound came from a relatively small string section.

It was an absolute joy to record and film this organ at Williamstown Uniting Church. This is one of the oldest and well—preserved organs in Victoria, made in the late 1800s by George Fincham. His organs are instantly recognisable by their bright sound and painted pipes.

We put a lot of effort into capturing the true sound of this instrument, which to our knowledge has never been recorded before. The final results will be released online as part of a short documentary on the church’s musical traditions.
