Just a shout out to Calvin who owns-operates🪛🔧 Reel Spa リールスパ Fishing Reel Servicing over in Singapore 🇸🇬
I’ve full confidence💯 sending🛫✈️🛬 📦reels to Cal for servicing✅

Given all the reels aboard the Gallant are top shelf Shimano.
Rather than replace, which isnt cheap at all…👐🏻💵💸
Having them serviced🔧🪛is worth the effort & cost💯

Cal has returned my reels in as new✨condition pretty much.
These latest Twinpower 8000 reels serviced are now 9yrs old & other than some cosmetic paint🎨🫟bubbling in some sml areas, they’re as good as brand new to use again💯💯

They’ll be great fun extracting the deep meat from the Strait a little later this season🎣💯😀

It’s 12:34am & since leaving the 🏡crt @4.36pm yesterday, it’s not stopped raining🌧️☔️💯☔️
Rod, Thomas & crew arrived suitably coated up ready to go.

Despite finding good〽️markings on the Furuno-295, & having the guys pretty pumped after a large Gummy🎣🦈shark arrived pretty soon after starting.
🐶Patch went full 💪🏻🔥MMA mode as always😃🤣
The ensuing evening action was very s l o w …🐌going unfortunately.

Some quick 🔪🌀knife work back at Stony Pt saw the crew take home a fair bit to chew😃💯🦈

Super glass out yesty arvo combined with a 🌡️flattened baro just before the sthly💨landed🛫 saw some solid results for the crew of individual clients.

Young Lucas didn’t quite know what was attached to the kicking🎣rod & protesting reel🔥drag last nite.
⏳⌛️5 or so mins later, he was rewarded with a terrific 🥇snapper around the 75cm range📏
Something he won’t forget too soon & full bragging rights for a while amongst family😃💯✅

Note the line coming out of fishes jaw-was some anglers misfortune & bad decision as it was a lighter leader around 15lb or so…can’t be too light on the terminal sections of rigging for larger fish on the Port-prefer 60lb personally as it’s able to deal with big snapper & their powerful jaw set💯✅

With current pump prices at or past the $2 per litre range for fuel⛽️around most of the Mornington Peninsula.

Thought I’d mention there’s a cheaper alternative available if anyone is travelling through the area.

United Service Station-⛽️🚘Moorooduc generally has the cheapest fuel price on the Mornington Peninsula I’ve noticed over a few years now.

Paid $1.64⛽️this afternoon

It’s not a large service station & can get pretty busy at times, for obvious reasons.
Worth the visit if in the area as there’s a fair saving currently when compared to most other servos.

Earlier this week the Bureau of Meteorolgy-BOM unveiled & went live with their recently upgraded 🌥️⛅️🌤️☀️🌧️⛈️🌨️💻website.
At a cost of 4 million💵💰💵to achieve this to software-design programs apparently🤯

Initial reactions & feedback over the following days across Melb -Victoria at least seems to be mixed with many annoyed at the latest changes.

🎙️📻3AW had plenty to say during a lively debate amongst presenters & staff who are often using bom to access weather for important updates to relay to listeners quickly & easily.
Essentially navigating the new website isn’t as clear cut as it has been for decades now.

The rain🌧️⛈️🌨️radar has been under heavy scrutiny also from many people recently.
Most social platforms are seeing plenty of posts from people who aren’t content with the new content upgrades so to speak.

I 📨posted a comment on the BOM Fbook page -explaining to support the obvious outcry & switch it back to the old format & was promptly switched to ‘non 😶commenting-like-share’ option only via their moderation crew😆🤣🤷🏿‍♂️

Circles are not designed for duel arrangement💯

This doesn’t stop floggers n bloggers advocating them in a dual arrangement-snooded with another-twin hook etc
It’s a flawed strategy💯
They’re designed to be used in a single setting✅

Fish inhales bait
Turns n as they vacate area
The hook rolls over on bend n secures the point into fish’s jaw
Often the corner area✅
This is how circle hooks are designed to work✅

Longliners know this and have trust in letting them sit for hours -safe in the knowledge that the hook will hold a fish once hooked so that when they return hrs later
Their prized catch is still connected to the long line snood✅
It works otherwise the entire industry wouldn’t embrace circle hooks✅

The comm industry crafted n created circle hooks over many trials back in the 60-70’s
They work best in a single setting ✅😄💯
