David Wells DP takes the Sumo PRO‑19 on set for Gong Fu Tea, a film directed by Jarrett New that explores Chinese tea culture, family and tradition.

With its solid build, super‑bright 4K display and customisable short keys, the Sumo PRO‑19 holds up perfectly on set. David is shooting on a Sony Venice II with Cooke S7 lenses, and the Sumo gives him an accurate view of exposure and colour throughout the day. The team also uses CFexpress recording and external SSDs over USB‑C for extra flexibility.

We had a great time at this year's Cine Gear Expo, connecting with so many attendees and sharing our latest production monitoring, recording, and cloud-connected workflow solutions.

At the booth, visitors had the chance to get hands-on with the new Sumo PRO-19, the updated Ninja series, and the latest ATOMOSphere capabilities, including tools designed to streamline connected production workflows from capture through collaboration.

We were also pleased to exhibit alongside Flanders Scientific, Inc. an Atomos company, who showcased a range of professional reference monitors. A key highlight was seeing the XMP270 and new XMP270C presented side by side, giving attendees a clear look at how the XMP270C brings many of the strengths of the XMP270 into a more compact form factor for workflows where space is limited.
