Chiquita & Co Public Relations

Chiquita & Co Public Relations Chiquita & Co works with businesses to build a powerful public presence through our unique Po5 model. Chiquita & Co.

is a PR agency launched in 2015 that works with CEOs, founders and entrepreneurs who are in growth mode and wanting to put their business on the map by sharing their brand story, connecting with new customers and giving their business (and themselves) credibility through media placements. We recently added a ‘Pay-on-Demand’ PR service to make PR tools accessible to small businesses who cannot yet

afford or want to commit to an ongoing monthly retainer. Through this model, small business owners can invest in PR when their budget allows, therefore still benefiting from media exposure on a relatively consistent basis. We also work with entrepreneurs and CEOs who are ready to expand their profiles through ‘The Influence Effect’, a comprehensive package designed to help leaders harness their ‘X’ factor to become speakers of influence within their industry.

Ms Cavallo described rent-vesting as a good option for some single parents as “it’s just more affordable from a cash flow perspective”.

“It also means that we can live near the schools that we want to live in or near our friends or near our family without worrying about affordability,” she said.

Congratulations to Anissa Cavallo of on her expert commentary being featured in Azzet about "Why Gen Z women are falling behind in home ownership" and what can be done to improve Gen Z women's share of property while the gender pay gap still holds strong in Australia. One of her tips is to start thinking like an investor and improve financial literacy.

“Our school systems don’t teach real-world money skills - how to budget, invest, or buy a home. The responsibility has been handed over to private enterprise, which means a lot of the 'education' people receive is laced with sales agendas.”

Client Win: Founder Feature with for

Lauren spoke with Yajush Gupta about founding and and how she built both brands by being her authentic self and connecting with her clients and community.

“I noticed a gap in the way in which criminal law clients were being represented and the delivery of quality and equitable legal services,” she says. “There was a focus on getting the best sentence in court for clients, but not enough consideration of, and advocacy for clients’ lives beyond the courtroom.”

Congratulations to our client on her feature published today in Lawyers Weekly, addressing why more female lawyers want to leave the profession and what needs to change in order to retain female lawyers in private practice. As Principal and Founder of Gallant Law () and Connecting Lawyer Mums () Lauren is passionate about supporting and uplifting women and parents in the legal profession.

“With more women now in the profession than men, it’s time to fully embrace the contemporary values we bring. If we don’t, the legal profession and justice system will struggle to accurately reflect community needs and values, and ultimately, we won’t be able to represent our clients as effectively as we should,” she said.

Thanks to Grace Robbie for the excellent write-up!

The article by shares Eleni Psillakis' story and lived experience, highlighting the common underlying thread of trauma and domestic violence in the circumstances surrounding offending by women in Australia, and shedding a light on the realities of incarceration for women.

"One of the common reasons that women end up in the justice system is they are victims of domestic violence," Lauren said. "Focusing on prevention in the first place will help stop the cycle of re-offending."

Eleni called on people to see the human being behind the offence.

"It's up to the community to educate themselves and to start changing attitudes and to start offering support because that's how lives change. If you put yourself in that situation, how would you want people to treat you?"

As part of World Autism Awareness Day (April 2), we are proud to share a personal story from our client, Anissa Cavallo, Founder of as told to Jose Agostino, that was published in yesterday!

Anissa's son Massimo is neurodivergent, with diagnoses of autism and ADHD. In his entire first year at school, Anissa’s son, Massimo wasn’t invited to a single birthday party or playdate.

“He hadn’t mentioned it before, so I had no idea it was a problem, but in grade two, he would say, ‘So and so has a party and I haven’t been invited. I thought he was my friend,'”

The pain of him being isolated and not connected to our community really got to me. I realised how deeply it was affecting him and that he couldn’t express it.

"As the parent of a neurodivergent child, I had to tell people who my child was, because they can’t work it out for themselves. Then once that happened, I had them backing me, and then their kids would back him, and it made such a huge difference. It was a complete gamechanger.”

Anissa volunteers her time with a charity dedicated to improving inclusivity for neurodivergent children and their families. We are proud to support Friend In Me's mission, amplifying their message and raising awareness around issues impacting neurodivergent children, adults, and their families.
