𝑰𝒏𝒕𝒓𝒐𝒅𝒖𝒄𝒊𝒏𝒈: 𝑭𝒆𝒍𝒊𝒑𝒆 𝑪𝒉𝒂𝒓𝒓𝒆𝒕 & 𝑺𝒕𝒖𝒑𝒑 🇧🇷

From São Paulo, Brazil — Felipe Charret ( ) and Junior Stupp ( ) have played a special role in the story of Lay Down The Groove.

Both started their musical journeys in the early 2000s, deeply rooted in Brazil’s underground scene.

Felipe’s background as a musician, sound designer, and mix/master engineer shaped a sound that blends raw techno and acid textures with warmth and precision. Junior, one of the early pioneers of minimal techno in Brazil, brought hypnotic atmospheres, breaks, and electro influences — together crafting a sound that felt timeless from the start.

Our connection goes back to 2016, when they appeared on our first release 𝐹𝑜𝓊𝓇 𝑜𝓃 𝓉𝒽𝑒 𝐹𝓁𝑜𝑜𝓇. Since then, the bond has only grown stronger — Felipe has mastered several LDG records, and both have released alongside Gabriel Ferreira on Ninefont, another thread in the Latin network we’re proud to be part of.

We’re honoured to have them back for 𝚄𝚗𝚎𝚊𝚛𝚝𝚑𝚎𝚍 𝙰𝚛𝚌𝚑𝚒𝚟𝚎𝚜 (𝟸𝟶𝟷𝟼–𝟸𝟶𝟸𝟶) — celebrating the early days and the friendships that shaped our sound.

We’re in Buenos Aires this week, teaming up with the Maleza crew for a special night at .ba , running from 10PM to 3AM. We’ll be behind the decks B3B all night long — alongside Gabriel Ferreira ( ) and DJ Braver ( ).

Both Gabriel and Braver will feature on our upcoming release, 𝚄𝚗𝚎𝚊𝚛𝚝𝚑𝚎𝚍 𝙰𝚛𝚌𝚑𝚒𝚟𝚎𝚜 (𝟸𝟶𝟷𝟼–𝟸𝟶𝟸𝟶) — a record that looks back at the early days of Lay Down The Groove and the artists who helped shape its sound.

Continuing our journey through 𝚄𝚗𝚎𝚊𝚛𝚝𝚑𝚎𝚍 𝙰𝚛𝚌𝚑𝚒𝚟𝚎𝚜 (𝟸𝟶𝟷𝟼-𝟸𝟶𝟸𝟶), we’re proud to spotlight another long-time friend and collaborator — DJ Braver ( ). 
A producer, DJ, and driving force behind Buenos Aires collective and label Maleza Recordings ( ), Braver’s sound blends funk, house, and breakbeat energy — a mix that’s been part of LDG’s DNA for years.  Our connection goes both ways: over time, we’ve released music on his label, and he’s released several tracks on ours. His first appearance on LDG came in 2018 with his EP 𝘏𝘰𝘮𝘦 𝘐𝘴𝘴𝘶𝘦𝘴, followed by contributions to 𝘚𝘰𝘶𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘳𝘯 𝘉𝘰𝘶𝘯𝘥𝘢𝘳𝘪𝘦𝘴 (2019) and 𝘋𝘰𝘸𝘯 𝘜𝘯𝘥𝘦𝘳 (2020) — our first vinyl release after moving to Australia. 
Our friendship runs deep. In 2018, before relocating to Australia, we toured Buenos Aires with the Maleza crew — three unforgettable nights that cemented our bond and connected us once again with Gabriel Ferreira ( ), Braver’s close collaborator and friend. 
It feels special to revisit these moments through this release — and even more special to be 𝘳𝘦𝘶𝘯𝘪𝘵𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘸𝘪𝘵𝘩 𝘣𝘰𝘵𝘩 𝘰𝘧 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘮 𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘴 𝘮𝘰𝘯𝘵𝘩 𝘪𝘯 𝘈𝘳𝘨𝘦𝘯𝘵𝘪𝘯𝘢. More on that soon.

Last week, we opened the vaults for 𝚄𝚗𝚎𝚊𝚛𝚝𝚑𝚎𝚍 𝙰𝚛𝚌𝚑𝚒𝚟𝚎𝚜 (𝟸𝟶𝟷𝟼-𝟸𝟶𝟸𝟶) — a special release that revisits the tracks and artists that helped shape the foundation of Lay Down The Groove.

Kicking things off is Gabriel Ferreira ( ) — DJ, producer, and founder of Ninefont Records ( ) , whose distinctive sound has been part of our story since the early days.

Gabriel joined the label in 2017 with a track on our third release, returned in 2019 for our seventh, and even headlined a Lay Down The Groove showcase in Bogotá back in 2016.

His deep, forward-thinking approach to production has always resonated with the spirit of LDG, and his contribution to 𝚄𝚗𝚎𝚊𝚛𝚝𝚑𝚎𝚍 𝙰𝚛𝚌𝚑𝚒𝚟𝚎𝚜 (𝟸𝟶𝟷𝟼-𝟸𝟶𝟸𝟶) reminds us why.

Over the years, Lay Down The Groove has been home to a range of artists whose music helped define our sound and direction.

As we close out the year, we’ve been digging through our past catalogue and rediscovering the tracks that shaped our identity as a label. What we found felt too special to stay buried — so we decided to bring them back.

New chapter, new energy ⚡️ After wrapping up our first two releases of the year, we’re keeping the momentum alive with a surprise party before the next release lands in November.

What a ride these past eight months have been 🙏🏽

We came back strong this year with two releases we’re incredibly proud of — 𝑻𝒓𝒂𝒏𝒔𝒄𝒆𝒏𝒅 𝑬𝑷 by .palazzo and our debut album 𝑪𝒉𝒐𝒓𝒅𝑷𝒍𝒂𝒚 — each marking a new chapter in the LDG story.

We also had the chance to share our music across clubs, parties, and radio, always feeling the love and energy from this community.

Right now, 𝑳𝑫𝑮 𝒊𝒔 𝒓𝒖𝒏𝒏𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒐𝒏 𝒕𝒘𝒐 𝒇𝒓𝒐𝒏𝒕𝒔: one of us holding it down in 𝑵𝒂𝒂𝒓𝒎/𝑴𝒆𝒍𝒃𝒐𝒖𝒓𝒏𝒆 🇦🇺, the other back home in 𝑩𝒐𝒈𝒐𝒕𝒂 🇨🇴.

Two continents, two dancefloors, one vision — pushing the Lay Down The Groove sound wherever we are 🌍

But the work doesn’t stop — 𝒘𝒆’𝒓𝒆 𝒂𝒍𝒓𝒆𝒂𝒅𝒚 𝒅𝒆𝒆𝒑 𝒊𝒏𝒕𝒐 𝒐𝒖𝒓 𝒏𝒆𝒙𝒕 𝒓𝒆𝒍𝒆𝒂𝒔𝒆, shaping something that takes everything we’ve learned so far and pushes it forward. We can’t wait to let you in on it soon 👀
