MELBPEACE Triumph: Adeniyi Ekine's Peace Award-Winning Concert Shines with World Salsa Champion!
The inaugural Melbourne International Peace Concert (MELBPEACE) and Awards, a groundbreaking event celebrating the profound values of peace and multiculturalism, was masterfully conceived, organized, and hosted by Adeniyi Ekine. This momentous occasion took place on Easter Friday, March 25th, 2016, at the state-of-the-art Encore Events Centre, a prominent venue in Melbourne, Australia, chosen for its capacity to host a diverse and enthusiastic audience.
The concert showcased an exceptional lineup of talent, each artist contributing to the overarching message of unity and harmony. Among the most memorable performers was the esteemed World Salsa Champion, Juan Carlos Ospina Sanchez. His dynamic and culturally rich performance captivated the audience, earning him a prestigious "Multicultural Peace Award." This award served as a testament to his profound and multifaceted contributions to the community, not only through his electrifying music and dance but also through his significant impact on the arts and broader cultural landscape.
The presentation of this significant award was officiated by a distinguished panel of eminent figures, each a champion of community and peace in their own right. The presenters included:
The Hon. Dr. Rachel Carling-Jenkins MP, a respected Member of the Victorian Parliament, whose presence underscored the event's political and social relevance.
The Hon. Dr. Mimmie Claudine Ngum Chi Watts, a dedicated Commissioner of the Victorian Multicultural Commission, signifying the event's commitment to celebrating and fostering cultural diversity.
Mr. John Bellavance, the esteemed Chairman of the Victoria Peace Council and Vice-President of the Universal Peace Federation Australia, whose involvement highlighted the concert's alignment with broader peace initiatives.
Adding to the esteemed roster of attendees, The Hon. Cr Gautam Gupta, the then Lord Mayor of Wyndham City, Melbourne, Australia, graced the event as a special guest of honor. His presence further elevated the significance of the MELBPEACE Concert and Awards, solidifying its place as a pivotal cultural and community event in Melbourne's calendar.
The event was a resounding success, fostering togetherness and demonstrating the power of music and culture to bridge divides and promote a shared vision of peace. This outcome was anticipated by Adeniyi Ekine, a human rights activist, peace ambassador, clergyman, and community leader in Australia.
In this world, challenges may arise, but we stand firm on the foundation of hope. Our hope is in Christ Jesus, who offers us miracles, healing, and deliverance from every bo***ge. He fills our lives with joy that transcends circumstances and a peace that surpasses all understanding.
