As the global population ages, the incidence of multimorbidity, currently estimated to be 61.9% in people aged 65 years and over, will continue to rise. Older people using multiple medicines are at increased risk of adverse medication events. Consensus-based lists of potentially inappropriate medicines (PIMs) highlight medicines where evidence or expert consensus suggests that the potential risks usually outweigh the clinical benefits. Examples include the Beers Criteria and the STOPP tool. An Australian PIMs list was published in 2024. ➡️ https://bit.ly/4lq3dWt
