Autmn Leaf Suncatcher
These suncatchers only require a few materials that you might already have on hand.
Supplies Needed:
· Tissue Paper
· Clear Contact Paper or Self-Adhesive Laminating Sheets()
· White Cardstock– or thick white paper
· Scissors
· Glue Stick
· Black Construction paper

Instructions:
1. Print out the leaf templates on white paper and cut them out.

2. Place one leaf outline onto the sticky side of a piece of contact paper or self-adhesive laminating paper. If using the template, place the template black side down.

3. Cut your tissue paper into small squares. Layer the tissue paper squares onto the contact paper or self-laminating paper. Don’t worry if you go outside of the outline, this will get trimmed off later.

4. Add another outline (optional). If you want both sides to have the outline, use a glue stick and glue the second leaf outline on top of the tissue paper. You can also just use 1 outline.

5. Add the laminating sheet backing. Place another piece of clear contact paper or self-laminating paper on top and press down to smooth out any bubbles. Trim the excess contact paper or laminating paper with scissors.

6. Attach to the window.
Stick your suncatchers onto a window with tape and enjoy the beautiful fall colours as the sun shines through the tissue paper!

Paper Towel Butterflies

And not only is the process fun…….playing with them afterwards is thrilling!

To make your own butterflies, gather some plain white paper towels, food colouring, and pipe cleaners.

Mix your food colouring with water in separate bowls.

Now, fold your paper towel in half, in half again, another time, then one more time into sixteenths.

Allow your child to dip each corner of the folded paper towel into the coloured water of their choosing.

(Don’t dip the paper towel in too deep or for too long. Leaving part of the paper towel white in some spots also helps with the colouring and outcome. Let the kids experiment.)

The bigger kids can probably do the dipping themselves after showing them a few times.

Now, let the excess water drip back into the bowls after dipping each colour, then open up the paper towel and lay flat to dry.

Once each paper towel is dry…….gather along the centre of each paper towel, wrap a pipe cleaner around the centre, twist it off, even out the wings, flatten the body, and then curl the antenna’s.

Nice and simple.

Now, hang from the ceiling with some string, pin to the wall, perch on a desk……….
