So here’s a complaint I received on multiple posts on our page.
Is my response fair enough?
I’d like to share my recent experience as a buyer, simply so other customers are aware.
I won 10 glass containers through the online auction at $5 each. I have also previously bought the same containers from the warehouse for $5 each, so I was familiar with this price.
Because the website requires separate payments for each auction item, I called Lill this morning to ask whether I could come and collect my items and pay the bid price in cash when I arrived. Lill said that was okay, so I was happy with that arrangement and made the trip to collect my auction items.
I also asked whether I could purchase three more containers when I arrived, and Lill mentioned that the price might be different. Before I arrived, I texted her, and she then told me the price would be $110 for 13 containers, with two free containers included.
What I found difficult to understand was why the 10 containers I had already won through the auction at $5 each were then being charged at $10 each when I arrived to collect them.
I completely understand that warehouse prices may change, and I also understand that there can be different prices for different circumstances. However, an auction bid of $5 is the price I had successfully won the items for. I had also specifically confirmed by phone that morning that I could pay that bid price when I arrived.
In the end, I decided not to purchase the containers because I wasn't comfortable paying twice the auction price I had won.
I'm sharing this respectfully, not to cause an argument, but so other buyers are aware of my experience and can make sure they clearly confirm the final price before travelling to collect auction items.
My response
Roxane Tan so now you have gone to the trouble to comment on multiple post so here is my response again.
Unfortunately sharing false information is really unfair.
By the way this is John still in hospital and Lill rang me to ask what can we do.
1 these containers only sold for $10 or $15 when we owned the warehouse.
The smaller ones were $5.
2 you may had been lucky enough to score some at $5 as a double D promotion.
3 Wednesday night Auctions sold for over $20 a container still cheap.
4 an auction is an auction and we are starting them at rediculous low pricing to encourage new buyers and existing VIP’s to try there Luck.
5 Our Buy it now price is$35 online.
6 there was no mention about an existing order to me and if there was obviously we will honour the auction final price.
7 I’m not in the game to lose money and did you a really big faver to buy more only at $10 each which is against my policy as we do not want to have sales on site.
8 no Auction house will honour auction prices as a buy it now it defeats the purpose of having an Auction.
9 Your unfair comments is the EXACT reason why we prefer not to offer buy it now at auction prices as it will come back and bite you.
10 lady I’m highly medicated for pain in hospital and this comment of yours has really upset me and I’m sure it will upset Lill when I tell her during the day.
11 we always and I mean always try our very best to please everyone as we love what we do and try and help out as many families as possible.
I hope I have not been rude in my response will go over it in the morning to upset to read it again.
I’m sorry you feel mis treated but that is not our intention ever.
Regards John
