Sanjeev Singh Photographer Hi! I like taking photographs... with my iPhone, or with my Canon... sometimes for fun, but mostly for a living... :) I think of myself more as a storyteller.

And even better when it’s a real story, and not fiction. For me, photography is about capturing that visual narrative which invites the viewer to engage in a moment caught in time. My first glimpse of Venice was in 1984 when Madonna released her Like A Virgin video, which was largely shot in Venice. It was the first time I’d learned about the canals and the gondolas and the many bridges (you see Madonna prancing all around it!) A few years later, my 6th Grade English teacher introduced us to Shakespeare’s The Merchant of Venice, presenting me with a very different version of Venice from Madonna’s! It’s been a place I’ve always wanted to visit but so many people say how packed and touristy it is. Yesterday, I finally arrived into Venice on a boat from Rovinj, which apparently is how all important people arrive here. Yes, it’s packed and it’s a little touristy and it was hot and humid. But my god, it is also dreamy and mystical and full of surprises in every little turn among the labyrinth of paths and alleyways…
