β‘ This is exactly why regular testing matters.
Attended another Baby Station vending machine for test and tag today, alongside SBC Maintenance, and this one had a real hazard hiding behind the wall: the power cable had a broken earth wire.
No earth connection means no path to safely divert fault current if something goes wrong inside the machine, turning a simple fault into a genuine shock risk for anyone standing nearby. It's not something you'd ever spot by looking at the machine or using it normally. The only way to catch it is with proper testing.
The machine was out of service and pulled from use until the cable is repaired/replaced.
This is the whole point of test and tag: most equipment looks and works fine right up until it doesn't. A five-minute test catches the faults before they catch someone else.
If you've got vending machines, kitchen equipment, or any plug-in gear at your business that hasn't been tested recently, get in touch.
