JACQUI LAMBIE ERUPTS AT PAULINE HANSON OVER HASTIE CARTOON

Senator Jacqui Lambie has launched a blistering attack on Pauline Hanson following controversy over a One Nation cartoon involving Liberal MP and former SAS soldier Andrew Hastie.
In an explosive television appearance, Lambie called Hanson a “coward” and accused her of hiding behind cartoons that attack veterans and divide Australians.
“I warned you years ago to leave my bloody veterans alone,” Lambie declared, saying she was “absolutely fuming” over the treatment of Hastie.
Lambie also claimed Hanson did not understand patriotism and was dividing the country instead of bringing Australians together. She demanded that the controversial cartoon be removed from social media, describing its content as “vile” and “obscene.”
Pointing directly at the camera, Lambie finished with a blunt prediction for the One Nation leader: “You’re finished.”

“HE’S NOT A TRAITOR”: BARNABY JOYCE APOLOGISES TO ANDREW HASTIE

Barnaby Joyce has publicly apologised to Liberal MP and former SAS soldier Andrew Hastie after a controversial Pauline Hanson *Please Explain* cartoon referred to him as a “traitor”.

The cartoon showed a caricature of Mr Hastie facing the label from social media users. It referenced his testimony in the Ben Roberts-Smith case and his position on the government’s hate-speech legislation.

Mr Hastie later accused Pauline Hanson and Barnaby Joyce of being “lying cowards” after they denied personally calling him a traitor.

Speaking to News24 host James MacPherson, Mr Joyce said the cartoon had “nothing to do with” him but apologised for the offence it caused.

“Mr Hastie feels great umbrage about it, and for that, I apologise,” Mr Joyce said.

He also firmly rejected the accusation against Mr Hastie:

“I don’t believe Mr Hastie is a traitor, of course. That’s an absurdity—he’s not.”

The apology marks the latest development in an increasingly heated political clash between Mr Hastie and senior One Nation figures.

QUEENSLAND EDUCATION DEPARTMENT QUITS LGBTQ+ WORKPLACE PROGRAM

Queensland’s Department of Education is ending its membership of ACON’s “Pride in Diversity” program after reviewing its external memberships.

The department had participated in the workplace-inclusion program since 2018. It maintains that the initiative was designed for staff—not as a student program.

However, a parliamentary petition signed by more than 1,130 Queenslanders called for the department to withdraw, with petitioners raising concerns about its possible influence on school activities, policies and classroom content.

The department said continued participation no longer aligned with its current requirements and that the process of ending its membership had begun.

POLL SHOCK: ONE NATION SURGES TO THE TOP 🇦🇺

Pauline Hanson’s One Nation has emerged as Australia’s most popular party by primary vote in the latest News24.com.au/YouGov Pulse poll.

đź“Š PRIMARY VOTE:

🔴 One Nation — 30% ⬆️ 4 points
🔵 Labor — 26% ⬇️ 3 points
🟦 Coalition — 18% ⬇️ 3 points
🟢 Greens — 12%

The result follows Prime Minister Anthony Albanese’s declaration that Labor must defeat One Nation, which he described as “dangerous” and “divisive”.

One Nation has fired back, accusing Labor of inflaming political tensions instead of addressing the issues concerning everyday Australians.

On a two-party-preferred basis, Labor remains ahead:

• Labor leads One Nation 53–47
• Labor leads the Coalition 52–48

Opposition Leader Angus Taylor has categorically ruled out forming a formal coalition with One Nation, insisting the Coalition must rebuild voter support on its own.

Immigration is also emerging as a major concern, with 66% of respondents supporting either a small or large reduction in migration.

The poll signals a major political challenge for both Labor and the Coalition as One Nation’s support continues to grow.

PRINCIPAL BREAKS HER SILENCE AFTER 34 YEARS IN EDUCATION

Janelle Rowe dedicated 34 years of her life to teaching and school leadership.

As an ACT public-school principal, she says she proposed replacing Wear It Purple Day with Bullying No Way Week—an alternative she believed would include every child without requiring staff to discuss sexuality and gender identity with children as young as four.

According to Janelle, what followed was a series of allegations, increased supervision and an instruction to participate and wear purple. She was also reportedly told she was “underperforming.”

But records cited by Janelle reportedly described her as “outstanding,” “highly capable” and “the best leader I have ever worked with in my 40-year career.”

One staff member allegedly told her:

“I completely agree with you, but I would never say anything.”

Janelle says her Christian faith was then questioned and used to explain her position.

She ultimately resigned and chose not to pursue the matter through Fair Work, saying she wanted the freedom to tell her story publicly and help parents understand what may be happening inside their children’s classrooms.

She says she has no regrets:

“If I’ve helped one parent feel empowered to speak up, or protected one child, then that’s great.”

Children deserve a childhood—and educators who genuinely believe they are protecting children deserve to be heard.

ONE NATION SURGES IN JIM CHALMERS’ SAFE LABOR SEAT

Treasurer Jim Chalmers is facing a surprising political challenge in his traditionally safe Queensland seat of Rankin, according to a new Courier-Mail poll.

đź“Š The survey of 501 Rankin voters found:

🔴 Labor: 39.92% — down almost 10 percentage points
🟠 One Nation: 31.54% — up from 6.57% at the 2025 election
🟢 Greens: just under 11%
🔵 LNP: under 12%

Despite the dramatic shift, the poll projects Labor would narrowly retain the seat with 50.9% after preferences, relying heavily on Greens voters.

Labor has held Rankin since the electorate was created in 1984, while Chalmers has represented it since 2013.

The result is only a poll—not an election outcome—but it suggests growing voter frustration with both major parties across Queensland.

Chris Bowen’s climate department is facing scrutiny after records reportedly revealed more than $6 million in overseas hotel accommodation and meeting-facility contracts within a matter of months.

According to The Daily Telegraph, more than $5.6 million was contracted for hotels connected to pre-COP31 meetings in Fiji, including two bookings worth approximately $2 million each.

Departmental records also reportedly disclosed a $283,976 accommodation contract associated with the Bonn Climate Conference in Germany.

The government says the headline figures will not necessarily be the final cost to taxpayers. Some expenses are expected to be recovered from participating delegations, while rooms that are not required may be cancelled and refunded.

However, critics are questioning whether this level of spending is justified while Australian families continue to face soaring costs for housing, groceries and energy.
