How I fuel my runs 🌱

I eat mostly organic like I used to 🌱

I source locally and support local farmers like I was raised as a little girl on my parents farm 👩‍🌾

I cook everything myself and trust what I eat will fuel my sessions to reach my fitness goals 👩‍🍳🏃🏽‍♀️

I choose to eat this way 💕
I have had to overcome my own health issues in the past 4 months
Healing my tummy and learning more and more about the stomach has been my biggest learning curve 🫶🏻

I run and bake literally with love and health as my soul purpose 🦋

This girl has hints of real orange, spices and big chunks of figs, apricots, sultanas, cranberries and currants 🥰

I like my fruit chunky 🙌
So when you lather her with butter, all warm and toasty, close your eyes, take your first bite and feel her sweet punch 😍

I include warmth from a mixture of spices that invite soft digestion, a settling tummy, so when she lands, along with that gorgeous sourness that she brings along too, gifting you the best of both culinary worlds 🥰

Sugar, sour and spice is her favourite trait 🫶🏻

She fills your mouth up with love 😍

Tuck in , goodnight and I’ll see you in the morning darling 😴 🌞

Feel Good Friday 🌻

Hello my foodie friends 👩‍🍳

This post I had attempted to share sometime back when I visited the beautiful and walked amongst the fields of gold 🌻🌻🌻🌻🌻🌻

I did an amazing workshop with to follow and learnt much more about the incredible sunflower and how to extend her life before drying her out 🌱

As you know, this was Ted’s flower 🌻
Golden petals always remind me of how blonde Ted was, and the power of love he holds still 🧵

Like the flower, they seek love and comfort from each other and from the sun 🌞
They turn to each other for connection and then back to the sun for energy, isn’t this absolutely incredible🌞

When you pick your sunflowers, or buy them,
cut them always on an angle ✂️
You will notice they have a cotton bud affect inside their thick stem, this is healthy
Place them only in a shallow vase of water, they don’t like a lot water 💦

Then every third day, repeat, cutting on an angle a few cms up each time, put straight into boiling hot water for 1 min, then replace with cold and repeat again and again
The petals will shed ofc, you can help them along, remove them as they shed
Then watch their gorgeous life continue in your home 🌻

You can choose to dry him out, hang in a dry and well ventilated room, darkened space in your home.
I always pop a paper bag over the head just to grab any little cheeky seeds that want to fall out fast

Drying time can take up to 3 - 4 wks, depending on air flow
You will know when he is dry because the head and stalk will be firm and crispy
As will the petals remaining

Then pluck your seeds and use them for your next planting season or you can ofc dehydrate these and use them in your cooking or as a snack 🧵🌱🌻👩‍🍳

Welcoming back my Teddies Kitchen 🌻

I am super excited to share that I have decided to continue sharing my invisible thread of all things Sourdough, refined sugar free lunchbox treats for the little kids and not so little .. us big ones too 😜

Teds icecream collection will be back on the board too 🍦

I only use a small amount of sugar in my icecream and yes the sugar is raw and organic also . The milk is provided from .yarra.dairy
👩‍🍳🍞 🥯 🍪 🧁🍦🐮🌻🧢💙🌞

I have not set a date of launch for orders yet, I have been busy in the trialling and testing stages 👩🏻‍🎓

But I am oh so excited for my old customers and new to come along and share the thread of wholesome, organic, safe and authentic food with me that really is medicine for our tummy’s 🥰

I am a massive advocate for distance running and all things fitness 🌞🏃🏽‍♀️💪
I am currently training for my second marathon and I only make what I align with 🧵
As an athlete myself, and raising a little boy who also is one ⚽️ 🏉 , I believe in fueling our bodies with good gut health and balance 🌱

I share my passion with the ones I love and my Paddy everyday in every way, and I always honor the way I raised both my little boys back then and now 🐾

I cannot wait to grow my little business once more, it got me up in my darkest days after Ted flew away, and my love for it now only grows deeper in my belly to keep going 🏃🏽‍♀️

This time I’ll be selling more and more good gut health foods, from fermented to frozen 🌻
All things me 💕
I even add some of my produce too that will be in some of the herbs that you will taste 🌱
Nothing is synthetic, nothing bleached, nothing added… it’s the true love of homely, wholesome cooking that isn’t packaged with a long list of numbers or questionable additives 💕

I have tears in saying this 🥹
All of my recipes are made with so much love, as I made these with and without my Ted ….
The first time I pulled back my old recipe pages … felt the pages, I could still feel his dusty floury fingers on all of them 🥹🌻

The magic lies within the centre and the thread now that I share with you all 🧵
