Insect Accessories is the 16th album by psychedelic band Donovan’s Brain, named after the 1953 science-fiction horror film. Formed in the mid-1980s by Montana musician Ron Sanchez—a multi-instrumentalist active since 1964—the band draws on garage-psychedelic influences such as The Chocolate Watch Band, Syndicate of Sound, and The Yardbirds. Over the years, Donovan’s Brain has featured a shifting lineup of gifted players and notable collaborators including Deniz Tek, Jim Dickinson, Peter Holsapple, and Matt Piucci. Insect Accessories spans styles from folk to prog, contemplative to heavy, weaving varied inspirations into a cohesive and adventurous musical journey.

Merseyside artist Tim Maycock, known as Wooden Tape , is a writer, musician, and long-serving teacher whose creative life threads quietly through Liverpool’s cultural fabric. Over the years he has played in several bands, sharing stages with experimental acts such as Teeth of the Sea and Mainliner, and performing at the Liverpool International Festival of Psychedelia. As Wooden Tape, he crafts contemplative, gently psychedelic pieces shaped by warm organ swells, acoustic figures, shimmering textures, and light percussion. His second album, Wool, released on 5 December 2025 via God Unknown Records, arrived on 180-gram green vinyl and digital formats, earning praise from Shindig! as "a beautifully constructed work."

Tim Maycock aka Wooden Tape joins Dr Gonzo to introduce the tracks from the album Wool by Wooden Tape on And This One’s Introduced By… on community radio 3CR.

Tune in tonight, Wednesday, 10th December 2025, at 11 PM

08/12/2025

Long-time community activist and 3CR presenter Berhan Ismael Jaber was recognised last week at the Victorian Multicultural Awards for Excellence for his decades-long involvement in volunteering work within Australia and abroad.

Berhan’s legacy is anchored in the longevity and impact of 3CR program Eritrean Voices, a 90-minute weekly program broadcast in English, Arabic, and Tigrinya. Since its inception in 2001, the show has empowered the Eritrean diaspora and modelled democratic values through open dialogue, guest interviews, and listener participation. His advocacy for freedom of speech and civic engagement is
deeply personal.

His work consistently bridges local and global issues, connecting Victoria’s Eritrean community with broader diaspora concerns. Through Eritrean Voices, he fosters social cohesion, combats isolation, and promotes a sense of belonging for multicultural communities across the state, and we are proud to see his work met with the recognition it deserves.

Congratulations, Berhan!

Tune in TONIGHT to hear Berhan on Eritrean Voices at 6:30pm every Monday on 3CR 855am, on digital radio, and online
