Please join us in celebrating the foster fail of handsome ♥️SAMMI♥️

We love to hear a few words from our new foster families, and in this case Dawn has covered it all, so please enjoy Sammi’s journey, told by his wonderful mum Dawn 💞 ……..

📝 Before Sammi’s journey with us, we fostered and the adopted “Chilli” through VBTR.
We lost our beautiful Chilli last January to lymphoma cancer.
We are still and will always be, heartbroken after losing Chilli 💔
Now, Chilli still lives in our heart and
our home through “Sammi”

♥️ Sammi’s Journey;
After losing Chilli, we told ourselves, we cannot go through loving and losing another Bully. We needed time!
🚐 We hitched up our caravan and took off on what was to be a 7 month trip!
2 months into our trip we received a phone call from Chilli’s breeder telling us that Chilli’s nephew Sammi, was at the Lost Dogs Home!
We turned straight around and went home to help VBTR get him out.

Sammi came straight to us as a Foster Dog, and the 1st month we struggled.
He was a 2 1/2 year old full on Bull Terrier, full of energy and ball obsessed. Sammi pushed us to the edge, we were looking at re homing him.😓
But we loved him and didn’t want to part with him. We just had to learn to accept Sammi for who he is, balls and all!! 🎾 ⚽

♥️ 5 months later and we have adopted our beautiful boy.

Sammi is still full of energy and he still loves to have a ball with him at all times. He keeps us on the go and we wouldn’t have it any other way 🥰
Sammi is learning “boundaries”. He knows we love him unconditionally and that he will always be loved and just as importantly, safe with us.
He is my shadow, and he has made our family complete.

🚐 Sammi now travels with us on our trips around Aus in our caravan.
In just a few months, he has travelled to, NSW, Qld, NT, SA and Canberra 🇦🇺
He has played in the red dirt in the outback and, he loves when we go to the beach 🌊
Thankfully, Sammi loves meeting other people and he especially loves meeting and playing with other dogs.

Sammi has filled our home and caravan with so much love, laughter and pure enjoyment.
Thank you Sammi for helping to heal
our broken hearts.
Our chosen boy, we love you so much🐾♥️

🔊 It is with great sadness that we have to announce; our Christmas Bully Walk for 2025 is cancelled 💔

Unfortunately, we were faced with a number of challenging council regulations and restrictions that were only very recently brought to our attention.

🥺 Please know that we worked tirelessly for the past couple weeks trying to bring everything together and leaving no stone unturned 🙏🏼, however we have now simply run out of time and options to relocate to a different venue.

We understand that this will be incredibly disappointing to so many of you who enjoy these social get togethers, and we can assure you that no one could be more disappointed than us 😔

💰Not only is this our biggest fundraising event of the entire year; raising much needed 💲💲💲 to continue our rescue work, but it’s also a day where we get to see so many of the beautiful furry faces of the dogs we have saved over the years (and their human slaves of course) 🐾♥️

BUT!! Rather than dwelling on what we cannot change; we choose instead to fill the social network with nothing but BULLY LOVE ♥️

✅ We WILL still hold our raffles!
✅ We WILL still hold our auctions!
✅ We WILL still give away our prizes!
✅ We WILL still have our 2026 calendars for sale!

Please join us in celebrating a very special foster fail for ♥️LOUIS♥️ (previously Shiva)

Earlier this year, we were asked to help a def bully boy. Due to his previous owners declining health, this poor boy was left scared and alone in a backyard all by himself 🥺. We needed to act fast!

🙌🏻 Thanks to some amazing VBTR teamwork, we had him quickly assessed by a trusted volunteer and then arrangements were made for temporary placement to get him safe!

In a heartbeat, Rhiannon picked up this sweet boy, where he stayed in his safety zone/ loving home, whilst we learned more about him.

As much as Forever Foster Sasha wanted to keep him, it was clear that this timid, insecure, beautiful and destructive boy needed a castle all of his own (to destroy 😂).

When Bradley reached out on behalf of his parents after losing their beautiful Indy, we knew instantly this was going to be a perfect match 🙏🏼

Affectionately nicknamed T-Rex 🦖, Louis is still destructive, timid & often insecure, but he is learning the love he once could only have dreamed of.
With the comfort of a couch inside where he can be centre of attention 🥰, and a family with patience to help guide him.

We could not be happier about this match and know that Louis will spend the rest of his days with so much love from his forever family of Lee & Kym, Uncle Bradley and sister 💞Daisy💞 (also a former VBTR rescued girl 🐾)

So much happens behind the scenes for a case like Louis, and for this one we would like to extend our greatest thanks to;
♥️ Susan, for Louis initial assessment and welfare check.
♥️ Justin and Dee who volunteered their time (and trailer) to transport a pen hours across the state so we could keep Louis safe.
♥️ Rhiannon and family (with 💞Sashie of course), for showing Louis what love and boundaries looks like, keeping him safe until his forever family was found, and continuing as his dedicated bully buddy.

It’s been a while since we shared an update on our special ♥️BILLY♥️ boy, so we asked foster mum Rachael to put together a little report on how he is doing to share with you all.
He is still on a special diet that is helping with his regurgitation and other than high anxiety; medically he is doing so much better 🙏🏼

📝 𝑹𝒂𝒄𝒉𝒂𝒆𝒍; “𝑨 𝒍𝒊𝒕𝒕𝒍𝒆 𝒖𝒑𝒅𝒂𝒕𝒆 𝒐𝒏 𝒐𝒖𝒓 𝒕𝒓𝒐𝒐𝒑𝒆𝒓 𝑩𝒊𝒍𝒍𝒚” 🐶 …….

We’re so happy to share a wonderful update on our little man. With the amazing support of the rescue, we’ve been able to see a behavioural specialist to help with Billy’s anxiety, and the change has been incredible in just a week 😃
It might sound small, but he can now walk up and down the driveway without making himself sick from nerves. After months of being housebound, it’s such a huge step forward 🙌🏻

🫱🏼‍🫲🏾🐾 We’ve started regular training and he’s absolutely thriving. He can now sit, shake and drop, and we’re working on “on your bed” and “look” to help him focus and relax.

When we first brought Billy home he didn’t know what toys were, but now he’s obsessed with his enrichment games like the Kong Wobbler and snuffle mat.
He’s a perfect little office assistant when I work from home and takes his job supervising the lawn mowing very seriously! 🤭
He loves paddling in his shell pool and having sleepovers in the big bed.
🎄This will be his first Christmas, and he’s very puzzled about the big tree inside, but a warm bath and his robe quickly distracted him.

♥️ Billy is the most relaxed and content he’s ever been. We’re so proud of how far he’s come and forever grateful to the rescue for giving him his second chance. He’s funny, gentle, and full of love, and we feel so lucky he’s ours.

We’ve got everything crossed that his new training and medication keep helping him feel even more confident.

Love really has been the best medicine 🩷

We are so happy to announce the foster fail of darling little 💞EVIE💞 (previously Ruby/Venus)

You may recognise this sweet girl from earlier in the year, when her scared little face was flooded across social media 🥺

🚗 A mission drive by two of our trusted emergency carers; Di & Matt, and Evie was now safe with VBTR.
She remained with Di & Matt for 3 months whilst we got her the medical care she required and allowed them time to work their magic on her confidence and social interaction, ready for her forever home 👏🏼

📝Here is the rest of Evie’s story, written by her adopted mum Lauren;

When Evie (our little Ginger Ninja 🥷) — first arrived at our home, she was a very timid little girl. Shy and especially wary of men, Evie preferred to keep her distance at first.
It didn’t take long for her to warm up to me and my daughter, and after about a week, she finally decided my husband Drew, and son were safe too — now she adores us all 😍

From day one, Evie hit it off with her fur brother ‘Buddy’ and the two have been inseparable playmates ever since 🐾

Evie absolutely loves her 🎾tennis balls — she’s a real little ball addict!

These days, she’s settled in beautifully, greeting visitors with her signature happy spins 🌪️ and a full-on “bully run” of excitement.
She’s no longer afraid of anyone and has truly come out of her shell 🙌🏻

👹 Like any young pup, Evie’s tested boundaries (and her teeth)….. on a couch, basketballs, and even my handbag — but she’s learned that toys are the only things she’s allowed to chew, and she’s doing brilliantly.

Evie now has her routine down pat, and her favourite part of the day is after dinner, when she curls up in the theatre room with Mum and Dad for Netflix snuggles.
She still has a little work to do, but she’s incredibly smart, eager to please, and absolutely thriving.
This beautiful girl has come such a long way — and we couldn’t be more proud of her! 🐾

What started as a short term foster application, ended in happily ever after 🙌🏻

Sean and Louise reached out to us wanting to help with emergency foster care, never before being Bull Terrier owners, and not yet ready to fully open their hearts again after the passing of their beloved Staffies 💔🌈
But Ivy (in true bully fashion), gave them so much love, affection and laughter. She has helped their healing hearts ❤️‍🩹, and they couldn’t possibly let her go!

We are so happy to say that Ivy now has a beautiful home and family all to herself (shared also with her little human brother Angus and her chicken friends 🐓)

📝 Here is Ivy’s story told by Sean;

"We are so happy to have Ivy officially part of our family as a foster fail.
From day one she was so happy to meet everyone and has always had these little spurts of crazy energy where she runs around like a nut, spear tackling your legs or doing 360s.
As we got to know her more and she got to know us we realised how much love this little dog has to give and what an amazing breed they are.
After a rough start in life we are glad we are able to give her a new one full of adventures, car rides, cuddles on the couch and a family that loves her.
She still hates her ears being cleaned and still patrols the chicken coop but she is easily called away from them.
Ivy is about to begin dog training to iron out some social issues developed from her past life.
Our Bully Buddy Brendan has been a great support and easy to deal with during our foster journey. You can see how much time and energy this group puts into Bull Terriers and their welfare.
Keep up the great work and we are honoured to be apart off the mission in small way."
