THE 2025 ANTENNA AWARDS – CELEBRATING COMMUNITY TV, EMERGING TALENT & THE LAUNCH OF CTV+ ON SMART TVs
The Antenna Awards return in 2025 to recognise the very best of Australian community television – honouring the creativity, diversity, and resilience of the sector at a time of major growth and innovation.
This year’s ceremony will take place Saturday 15 November 2025 at Cathedral Hall in Fitzroy, hosted by one of Australia’s sharpest comedy talents – Nath Valvo.
Nath’s hilariously physical, high-energy comedy has taken him from Adelaide Fringe to Edinburgh, Montreal, and back to Australian screens. Known for his cheeky charm and witty insights, Nath has appeared on The Project, Question Everything, and hosted Just for Laughs Australia and ABC’s Comedy Up Late. His return to community television is particularly special – having first appeared on C31’s cult sketch comedy program The Shambles.
The 2025 Awards attracted over 350 entries across 19 categories, judged by an independent panel of more than 70 screen and media industry experts. This year includes over 35 nominations from outside Melbourne, more than 60 first-time nominees, and features over 100 nominees from programs already available to stream via CTV Plus.
This year’s celebration also marks the official launch of CTV+ on Smart TVs, making community television available to households nationwide at the push of a button.
“The Antennas are a chance to celebrate the new era of community television – one that’s built on both our broadcast heritage and our digital future,” said Shane Dunlop, General Manager of C31 Melbourne. “With CTV+ soon to be available on Smart TVs, our programs are set to be more accessible than ever, and the Antennas will showcase exactly why our content matters.”
A highlight of the evening will be the induction of a new group of legends into the CTV Hall of Fame – including but not limited to beloved comedy duo Hamish & Andy and cult film-reviewers-turned-comedians The Bazura Project.
“It’s so exciting to be celebrating the Antenna Awards for 2025, and to see such an excellent showcase of South Australian nominations,” said Lauren Hillman, General Manager of Channel 44 Adelaide. “The Antennas are a vital reminder of the important role community TV plays in nurturing new voices, telling local stories, and creating pathways for the next generation of screen and media talent.”
The ceremony will not be broadcast live this year but will rebroadcast across CTV stations the following weekend and be available to stream on-demand via CTV+.
