The Radio station is manned and run fully by volunteers from all age groups, backgrounds and ethnicities. We pride ourselves in the variety of our pro

gramming.

979fm Studios are located in the grounds of Victoria University, 20-40 Rees Road, Melton South in the outer western suburbs of Melbourne. Our licence permits us to transmit to the western suburbs of Melbourne, however with our web-link we are now a truly international station transmitting 24 hours a day to all across the globe! Daughters of the West is a FREE health program for women aged 18 and over who live, work and play in Victoria’s west, delivered in partnership with Western Bulldogs Community Foundation.

The 10-week program consists of weekly 2-hour sessions, involving:
a health education component featuring guest speakers who cover a range of topics from nutrition to gender equity
physical activity sessions run by local health experts, designed to suit all fitness levels and abilities
presentations from experts and people with lived experiences.

There are two programs on offer:
Cobblebank Stadium
Tuesdays
10am-12pm
22 July-23 September
