Trek back to our chat with ‘The King’, in Ep 14.

Wayne Carey 272 games 727 goals. 7 time All Australian. 2 time premiership player. One of the greatest ever to play.

It’s amazing on reflection that North Melbourne essentially got Wayne Carey for a bargain price. North Did a Deal with Sydney to get Wayne Carey for $10,000. Probably the best $10,000 ever spent in footy!

Wayne made his debut in 1989 and the next year he cemented himself in the starting 18 and never looked back.
The Duck kicked 38 goals in 1990.
From 92-96 Wayne kicked 40+ goals in each season, kicking 82 goals in 1996. A fair effort playing predominantly at centre half forward.
Wayne was all Australian in 93-96 and then again from 98-2000.

In 1996 Wayne would captain North Melbourne to the premiership in the AFL’s 100th year. He is the only player to ever lift the gold cup as captain on the grand final Dias.

Wayne was at his peak in the mid 90’s and not many could match it with him, he had great fitness and used it to his advantage running into space with Northern at the time playing “Pagans Paddock”

His Roos were unlucky not to win in 1998 but they won the 1999 premiership with Duck kicking 76 goals in 99 including 2 in the premiership win.

Another all Australian selection took it to 7 in total kicking 69 goals.

One thing that Wayne was great at as captain at North Melbourne was being inclusive. If the boys went out to have dinner or a drink the entire list was invited and they all stick together, it wasn’t unusual for a full North Melbourne list of 50 all at the same pub having a meal, he made everyone equal at the club.

2002 he sat out of footy completely having stood down as North Melbourne captain but he was back again in 2003 this time in Adelaide crows colours
Wayne went on to play 28 games for Adelaide over 2 years before retiring due to a neck injury when he hit a point post at footy park.

Wayne is captain in the North Melbourne team of the century.
One of the greatest we’ve ever seen. His record will stand up forever as one of the greatest ever to play.

It's Men's Health Week, but when it comes to Mental Health it doesn't just have a day, week or season and it doesn't discriminate by s*x or age.

The biggest challenge for people who are dealing with mental health challenges, and particularly Men, it's the ability to seek help.

There is a common misconception that it is a sign of weakness to reach out for help or I'm too tough to speak up and talk about my emotions or challenges. Nothing could be further from the truth.
It takes courage to reach out and seek help as it also takes courage to reach out to someone going through challenges.

That's why I am launching the campaign this year and I am hoping for your help to create awareness.

If you could please like and share this post with your network.
Take a selfie with the man in your life, use the hashtag and share it on your page and make sure you tag me, Warren Davies - The Unbreakable Farmer in the post, so together we can create awareness, break down the stigma, make sure no one travels their journey alone and let a man in your life know, you have got there back.

I would be grateful for your support.
