As 2025 comes to a close, we just want to say thank you.

For Mum, Fiona ๐Ÿค

Behind every plan and brave new start,
Thereโ€™s you, the calm, the steady heart.
While big ideas come and go,
Youโ€™re the quiet strength that helps them grow.

When things feel loud or deadlines race,
You bring perspective, time and grace.
A level head, a guiding hand,
The solid ground on which we stand.

Behind Bralcaโ€™s name, its values too,
Is steady leadership shaped by you.
You hold the fort when weโ€™re away,
Keeping everything on track each day.

Youโ€™ve backed my dreams without a doubt,
When Business with Brooke was finding its route.
Through highs and lows, youโ€™ve stayed so sure,
Reminding me that grit endures.

Persistence wins, you always say,
Just keep showing up, find the way.
No shortcuts needed, no need to shout
Just steady work and seeing it out.

Strong in silence, wise and true,
So much of who I am is you.
My mum, my mentor, my constant guide,
Forever grateful youโ€™re by my side.

- Brooke.

Reflecting on heading out to Baradine to join an incredible panel of changemakers at the Castlereagh Country Drought Resilience & Innovation Showcase.

It was a privilege to share how ag tech is transforming drought preparedness and helping our regional communities stay proactive, resilient, and connected. From climate insights to mental health, finance, and innovation, the conversations in the room were powerful and exactly what our rural regions need as we look toward an uncertain climate future.

Funded through the Regional Drought Resilience Planning Program, the Showcase was one of a number of priority implementation items identified and endorsed by the community as part of the Castlereagh Country Drought Plan. The Regional Drought Resilience Planning Program is jointly funded by the Australian Government and NSW Government, under the Future Drought Fund.

A huge congratulations to Kate Wade from One More Event and Gilgandra & Warrumbungle Shire Councils for pulling together such a thoughtful, well-executed and community-focused event. What a credit to the region and everyone involved.

Grateful to sit alongside experts making a real impact, and to contribute my perspective on how technology can support producers and communities on the ground. Video and podcast series from this event are coming soon.

- Brooke.

Member spotlight: Brooke Watts empowering regional communities through ag tech innovation

Last week, our member Brooke Watts took the stage at the Castlereagh Country Drought Resilience and Innovation Showcase in Baradine, joining an impressive lineup of experts to help regional communities build resilience for the future.

As a dynamic agribusiness professional from BRALCA, Brooke will explore how agricultural technology can strengthen drought preparedness and response - bringing practical solutions to one of regional Australia's most pressing challenges.

The Showcase, hosted by the Gilgandra and Warrumbungle Shire Councils and supported by the Australian Government's Future Drought Fund, represents exactly the kind of forward-thinking initiative our regional communities need. By bringing together experts in finance, innovation, research and mental health, it's creating a comprehensive toolkit for drought resilience.

What makes this event particularly special is its commitment to accessibility. Recognising that harvest timing means many farmers can't attend in person, the organisers are recording all sessions for podcast and video release in early 2026. This ensures valuable insights on cutting-edge solutions, grassroots strategies and community empowerment reach everyone who needs them.

Brooke's participation demonstrates the depth of expertise within The Connection Table membership - professionals who understand that true resilience comes not just from weathering challenges, but from innovation, collaboration and knowledge-sharing that helps communities thrive.

This is regional leadership in action - identifying challenges, developing solutions, and ensuring no one gets left behind.

It's not every day you get to spend time with a leading drone industry professional! We had some exciting discussions on emerging tech, safe operations, and the future of UAVs in regional NSW.

We also had the chance to showcase our very own platform, Godwit (G15). Huge thanks to Ben Watts from Bralca for spending the day with us - big things are ahead!

Workplace Ready Workshop โ€“ Gilgandra High School ๐Ÿ“š

Yesterday I had the pleasure of delivering my Workplace Ready Workshop to some incredible agriculture students from Years 9, 10 and 11 at Gilgandra High School.

We covered everything from career pathways in agriculture, communication and workplace expectations, to building strong resumes, interview skills, and creating a professional online presence.

A massive highlight for the students was hearing from my good mate , who kindly shared her agricultural career journey and the lessons sheโ€™s learned along the way. The students were engaged, asked thoughtful questions, and gained real insights into what a future in the ag industry can look like.

It was such an inspiring group of young people, enthusiastic, respectful and curious about the opportunities waiting for them in agriculture.

A huge thank you to the staff at Gilgandra High for the warm welcome and support throughout the day. Itโ€™s always a privilege to help the next generation build confidence, skills and pathways into our regional workforce. Developing and delivering these programs start to finish truly fill my cup up.

Excited to see where these students go next! ๐ŸŒพ

Bralca stands with the land this National Ag Dayโœจ

From drones over paddocks to consultancy at the bush kitchen tables, our work is all about helping producers make smarter, more sustainable decisions, using tech, training and tailored advice to monitor pests, manage livestock, build skills and strengthen rural businesses.

To the farmers, agribusinesses, students and communities we work alongside, thank you. Your resilience, innovation and willingness to try something new are what keep Australian agriculture moving forward.

Wherever you are today, in the air with a drone, in the paddock, or planning the next season, weโ€™re proud to with you.

Workplace Ready Workshop โ€“ Dubbo ๐Ÿ“š

What a rewarding day in Dubbo delivering a Workplace Ready workshop to 12 enthusiastic Year 9 students as part of the Girls Can Too series. This session wrapped up a huge week of learning for the group, exploring different trades, industries, and future career pathways.

Their aspirations stretch from healthcare and hospitality to construction and beyond, and their curiosity, confidence, and willingness to give everything a go was such a joy to witness. Creating opportunities like this for high school students is so important, it gives them the space to ask questions, explore possibilities, and start meaningful career conversations early.

Being able to spark these moments and help shape their next steps genuinely fills my cup. Pictured is just a handful of the wonderful young women who showed up with energy, commitment, and big goals for their future. Proud of each one of them for taking this step forward.

A grateful thank you extends to the RIEP program for making these opportunities possible. The Regional Industry Education Partnerships (RIEP) Program designs and delivers bespoke opportunities for employers to connect with secondary schools. Through these connections, students learn about jobs and pathways to employment.
