Well Open Mic Night 116 aka Busybird’s Christmas Party was a massive success last night. So many people packing HQ out and most in amazing costumes all trying to win the Best Costume Prize. Mixed that with so much fantastic food and the readings tonight were just something else. WOW, that’s it for functions here for 2025 but I must say when you sit back and reflect on the year, it’s been super busy, super fun and I’ve met some more super authors who have joined our close knit Busybird Comminity. 🙂 Roll on an exciting 2026.

It's that time of year again. Busybirds 2025 Christmas Party and Open Mic Night 116 is on this Wednesday evening, 19th Nov. Come at 6pm (bring a plate) for dinner, drinks and a catch-up, or 7pm for our normal Open Mic Night event. As it's our special party, we would love you to dress up as your hero, legend, or life inspiration. There will be a prize for best costume, and also the normal Door Prize. It would be great to end the year with you all and see you this Wednesday evening. :-)

Another great book launch at Busybird HQ today. Steve D’Agata launched his book, ‘Pope Dreams’ infront of a nice crowd of family and friends. Congratulations Steve, we’re all now waiting for the sequel and screenplay.

7.00pm: Open Mic Night as usual: $5.00 entry, no bookings required, refreshments provided.

Yesterday I had the honor of officially launching the amazing book, Litoria and her wetland friends.
Teisha, the author and Katie, the illustrator, organised a fantastic launch with heaps of activities, info stands and fun for all ages based around the growling grass frog, which the book is all about. It was such an honor to be a part of their publishing journey with Busybird and I am sure every child who reads this book will love its fun story, stunning illustrations and informative information throughout it 🙂 Well done girls… it was an amazing publishing journey for all of us ending with a stunning book.
