claimed the women’s premiership for 2025. They defeated 17 points to 14.

Noosa captain Tess Evens said, “That was tough mate. That was the toughest games I think I’ve ever played. Neck and neck all the way. It came down to belief. I think we wanted it more.”

The Dolphins opened the scoring 19 minutes into the second half with a try to Georgia Daniells. Olivia Waldron added the conversion.

Caboolture hit back 12 minutes later with a try to Vire Kite. Gabrielle Moulds added the conversion to tie things up at seven points a piece.

The score would stay at 7-all at full time. Two periods of 7 minutes each way were then played.

Evens said, “To go in to two lots of seven minute was massive.”

Noosa scored the first try of over time, through Shelbie Beardmore, to take the score to 12 points to 7.

Vire Kite would cross for Caboolture, and Latisha Stowers kicked the conversion, to take the score to 14 points to 12 in the Snakes favour.

Lydian Alo Emile would crash over right as time expired to score Noosa’s last try.

Noosa have gone to outright fourth on the Sunshine Coast Gympie Rugby League ladder after defeating Nambour 32 points to 22 at Pirate Park, Tewantin.

Pirates Operations Manager Liam Anlezark said, “It was a tough slog. Nambour really turned up to play. Credit to the Crushers. They gave it to our boys but I think a bit of fitness got us home in the end and a bit of polish.

“The Crushers had all of the momentum at the start of that second half and went ahead.

“Credit to our guys. They came home with a wet sail and got the win.”

Nambour captain coach Martin Cordwell said, “That was a really good contest. I think both teams can take away a bit of pride out of that effort.

“They probably just had a bit more gas than us in crucial moments in the back end there. We had a few boys that backed up from Under 19s and Reserve grade, which is great for club culture.

“But, yeah, as I said they probably just had a bit more gas than us in that crucial period of the game.”

The run home for the Crushers will see them play Stanley River in Woodford, Beerwah at Beerwah Maroochydore at home for lady’s day, and Caloundra at home raising funds for motor neuron disease research.

For Noosa, Beerwah at home on Sunday, Coolum at Coolum, Caboolture at home, then A grade have a bye in the last round while reserve grade play Gympie in Gympie.
