πŸ’› Today is R U OK? Day πŸ’›

It’s a reminder for all of us to slow down, check in, and really ask the people around us: β€œAre you OK?”

This day isn’t just about asking the question, it’s about truly listening to the answer, creating a safe space for honesty, and showing that we care. You never know what someone might be going through beneath the surface, and a simple, genuine conversation could make a huge difference in their life.

πŸ’¬ A conversation could change a life.

πŸ’› Ask. Listen. Encourage. Support.

(Left)
π‚π‘πšπ§ππšπž - "POPS"
Strong, quick-minded, and the kind of teammate everyone wants by their side when things get intense. Chantae stays calm under pressure, making fast, smart decisions in the heat of the moment- literally. Whether she’s navigating complex fire scenes or cracking a joke back at the station, her easygoing vibe brings balance to even the toughest days.

FAVOURITE FOOD: Cinnamon Churros
FAVOURITE ANIMAL: Snow Leopard

(Right)
π€πŸππ¨π§ - "Pringles"
Afton is one of those people who just stands out- in the best way. She's super smart, always quick on her feet and thinking clearly even when things get hectic. On top of that, she’s hilarious. Somehow, she knows exactly when to crack a joke to lighten the mood. And when it comes to firefighting, she’s seriously strong-both physically and mentally. Whether she’s charging into a tough situation or supporting her crew, Afton brings a mix of brains, bravery, and heart.

FAVOURITE FOOD: Mexican
FAVOURITE ANIMAL: Her dog, 'Olive'

As firefighters, we run into danger just like our family members dressed in Blue. We pause, not to fight flames, but to honour those who have lost their lives in the Victorian Police Force tragedy. Their commitment, courage and sacrifice will never be forgotten, but cherished.

To families and friends, your grief is ours too.

We may wear different uniforms, but we are one family.

Rest in Peace

πŸ”₯ Planning a Burn? Notify First! πŸ”₯

βœ… Burn notifications are mandatory all year round and must be submitted at least 24 hours before any planned burns.

πŸ‘‰ Lodge your burn notifications on the RFS website: www.rfs.nsw.gov.au

⚠️ Stay Vigilant: Even though the Fire Danger Period has ended, dry, cured grass remains a concern. Always monitor forecasts and weather conditions closely before lighting any fires.

πŸš’ The NSW RFS encourages residents to exercise caution and strictly follow local regulations and safety measures when conducting burns.
