COVER REVEAL - GO SANTIAGO!
Dear readers,
Belated Happy New Year! 2024 is now well underway, I trust your Christmas and New Year break was both fun and restorative. Interestingly, I found myself unexpectedly spending Christmas Day in an emergency room and on an operating table due to some appendix trouble. All's well that ends well, though, and a big shoutout to the amazing staff at Northern Beaches Hospital for the latest round of panel beating – they are the true, unsung heroes.
Cover Reveal
To commence the year with a flourish, I am thrilled to present the cover of HERO OF ROSCLOGHER, the whirlwind third instalment of THE SASSANA STONE PENTALOGY! Another blistering narrative featuring the unforgettable Spanish marksman 'Santi,' it further unveils the mind-blowing big idea behind the Sassana saga; as the creative director of The King's Speech once put it: it's just fascinating to read the story of the Spanish Armada from THE OTHER side!
For those unfamiliar: 'Santi' is the nickname of Spanish Armada castaway Abel de Santiago, once a revered marksman in the Spanish army known as ‘the Lynx of Haarlem’. Following his shipwreck on the treacherous western coast of Ireland to his encounters with persecuted Irish natives and an unlikely escape with a rebel princess – this explosive third instalment introduces Santi to his greatest challenge yet. Join him and his eight other companions as they are besieged by hundreds of English troopers, where the threats within the tower house which they are sworn to defend might prove deadlier than those outside...
Packed with action, betrayal, forbidden love and nail-biting mystery, this book will keep you hooked, ramping up the stakes to surpass its highly rated, award-winning predecessors THE SHERIFF’S CATCH and A REBEL NORTH. Keep an eye on my page and upcoming newsletters for launch updates! And here’s the proofreader's feedback:
"Incredible story, every chapter dripping with tense intrigue, breathtaking action and raw emotion. It took me on a mesmerizing literary ride filled with unexpected twists and turns. Santi never disappoints."

Manly Writers' Festival
Exciting news! As previously mentioned, I'll be part of the upcoming Manly Writers Festival, focusing on my historical thrillers which feature both Abel de Santiago and Robert the Bruce. Headlined by Tom Keneally, author of SCHINDLER’S LIST, this promises to be an inspiring and thought-provoking event. Sydney locals, join me on Saturday, 16 March, at 10:30 am at 1 Darley Road, Manly, for a talk titled THE LURE OF THE PAST. I'll be signing books afterward, and we can grab lunch by beautiful Manly Beach.
