Break through for Wok The Duck!

Over the past few days we have been meeting with the Minister and the Department of Education regarding the location of the new preschool and primary school.

I’m pleased to say that this morning the Government has put a pause on the process and is reviewing their options for the schools.

This is a sensible decision and I maintain my position that our town desperately needs the new school facility but that should not come at the expense of a hard working, community oriented, family business.

Well done to Wok the Duck for their amazing community campaign and to all who have supported Dave, Ebony and Dan over the past week.

Councillors will be discussing the updated Tree Management policy at an Information Session next Monday 2 March at 5.30 at the Council Chamber.

Cr Anne Fordham had requested this occur after moving a motion in a late 2025 Council meeting that the previously presented policy was not good enough.
