On Friday August 26 between 9am and 1pm, as part of Queensland Road Safety Week 2022, officers from Highway Patrol Mount Isa will be at the on site to provide advice on safe caravan towing.
Experts from the Boss Shop Mount Isa will also be available to provide a free caravan weighing service to check the overall weight and weight distribution of your caravan and car set up.
From 9am there will be free bacon and egg rolls and drinks, and an opportunity to chat with Highway Patrol officers on all topics of road safety, in particular road safety points relevant to travel in outback Queensland.

I got the chance to weigh up this brand new set up of vehicle and van for customers ready to hit the road and explore Australia.

Very impressive set up and was great to see the overall results.

The customers chose to upgrade their GVM to 5,300 Kg and they are very glad they did.

You would think that the RAM 2500 with factory GVM would be good enough but once you add some accessories, a couple of people and 300 Kg ball weight you get very close to the standard GVM of 4,490 Kg.

So now they have around 800 Kg up their sleeve due to choosing to upgraded the GVM.

GCM was no issue as the RAM 2500 has this well and truly covered at 12,695 Kg

Weight Results were

RAM - 4,000 Kg
Zone RV - 3,500 Kg GTM - Ball Weight 300 Kg (Full Tanks)
GCM - 7,800 Kg with No Passengers

Just goes to show that it pays to get weighed !!!
