Midwest Home
- Interior Design in America’s Heartland -

Exploring the diversity, resilience, and quiet beauty of homes across the Midwest, this photo book showcases 20 residential design projects in America's heartland.
Author / Photographer: Ryan Hainey
Midwest Home is a richly photographed tribute to the quiet confidence and enduring charm of Midwestern interior design. Featuring 20 homes ranging from lakeside retreats to sleek city lofts, the book captures the full spectrum of style across America’s heartland and celebrates how architecture responds to place, climate, and culture.
Through thoughtful essays and striking images, author and photographer Ryan Hainey brings to light the distinct ethos of Midwestern design, which is rooted in honesty, place, and permanence. Far from being derivative of coastal trends, these homes speak their own language: one of sustainability, practicality, and beauty born of restraint.

A Welcome Adventure
- Into the Highlands of Papua New Guinea 1977 -

In 1977 an abiding desire to photograph Old World peoples and cultures offered 23-year-old Victoria Ginn an escape from the wintery city of Melbourne, Australia, leading her by whatever means on offer (including accompanying homicidal maniacs gone troppo) into the remote, jungle swathed Highlands of Papua New Guinea.
Author: Victoria Ginn
Here, in a hidden valley yet to fall victim to Christian missionaries hell-bent on ensnaring the souls of its Stone Age occupants, Victoria met and photographed a People whose ancient culture included forest magicians, sorcerers, dandies, bachelor-cult leaders … and who were – in the author’s words – ‘living archetypes whose pure jungle spirit remained connected to the very birth of humankind’s spiritual consciousness’.
A quirkily spiritual/psychological/poetic text, intended as a mirror to the photographs, makes this culturally historic portrait identifiably relevant NOW!

Mikael Lundström: Overburden
- A Journey Into the Soul of Central Appalachia-

In Overburden, photographer Mikael Lundström journeys through the central Appalachian mountains in the East of the USA, an area shaped by coal-mining, poverty, and deep religion.
It is also thought to be the birthplace of country music. The first settlers, fleeing religious persecution in their home countries, appreciated the remoteness and quiet of the region. Over many generations, they lived separate from other immigrants, resulting in the formation of a unique mountain culture. However, this relative isolation was brought to an end at the close of the 19th century with the rise of the coal industry. Mining settlements sprang up around the mines, revealing the harsh face of capitalism.
The mixture of old mining traditions, new waves of immigration, and the ruthless exploitation of people and nature continues to shape the area to the present day.

Caravaggio's Cupid

A Caravaggio "first", this accessible and attractive illustrated volume focuses on one of the famous artist's most iconic artworks, Victorious Cupid.
Author: Helen Langdon
Caravaggio’s painting, also known as Amor Vincit Omnia, shows Cupid, the Roman god of desire, as a young boy, in an animated pose while wearing dark eagle wings and holding two arrows. It was the last allegorical work Caravaggio painted in Rome.
This richly illustrated softcover print publication features an introduction by the director of The Wallace Collection, Xavier Bray, followed by five illustrated chapters by the volume’s principal author, Helen Langdon. Langdon examines the meaning of the painting, and considers how Caravaggio brings the subject to earth, from the heavens to the bedroom, mocking the idealisations of renaissance art.
