The family behind Muckleford Fields have been doing more than just growing top-notch blueberries – they’ve been turning coffee waste into soil gold! ♻️

In the past 18 months, they’ve collected over 3,000 litres of used coffee grounds from Maine Foodstore! 🫘

Instead of that waste heading off to rot in landfill, it’s now going straight into the blueberry rows – boosting the soil, cutting emissions, and making the bushes extra happy! 🫐

Their approach? No flashy campaigns or “look-at-us” stunts – just proper local collabs, a bit of creative thinking, and a good attitude toward doing things better.

“Climate action doesn’t always require big one-offs – just local partnerships, a little creativity and a commitment to doing things better,” they said.

The beloved Victorian Goldfields Railway has suffered a heartbreaking break-in at Muckleford Station. Lowlife thieves have stolen vintage tools, signalling equipment, and fittings worth hundreds of thousands, robbing our community of irreplaceable history. :'(

🚂 The Victorian Goldfields Railway Needs Your Help! 🚨 Our beloved heritage railway has suffered a devastating break-in, with vintage tools, signalling equipment, and railway fittings worth hundreds of thousands stolen from Muckleford Station. 😔 These items, vital to VGR’s safe operation, may have been targeted for scrap but hold irreplaceable historical and practical value.

VGR volunteers, already hard at work keeping this treasure alive, are rallying to raise funds to replace what’s been lost. If you can donate or have information about the theft, please step forward. Trains will keep running, but this not-for-profit is feeling the pinch. Let’s band together for this local icon. 💛
