In a groundbreaking step for rural healthcare, Murray Bridge has become the stage for a bold new era in medical education – with doctors, students, and educators coming together to deliver lifesaving training and set a new benchmark for regional South Australia.

The inaugural Acute Care Intensives Workshop, hosted at the Flinders Rural Health Campus in Murray Bridge, brought together all final-year Flinders University medical students training in regional SA for a hands-on, high-stakes crash course in emergency care.

Viterra, with sites in Monarto, Tailem Bend, Karoonda, Lameroo, Pinnaroo and Coonalpyn, has officially merged with Bunge Global after talks to combine the companies began in 2023.

The merge was described as the creation of a premier global agribusiness solutions company for food, feed and fuel.

Meningie’s Aunty Ellen Trevorrow has recently returned from the National NAIDOC Awards where she was celebrated as a finalist.

Aunty Ellen was in the running for Female Elder of the Year, alongside Aunty Rosalie Kickett and Professor Eleanor Bourke.

The award ultimately went to Aunty Rosalie, but Aunty Ellen said it was an honour to be named as a finalist.

NAIDOC Week day two saw hundreds gather for a Bridge Walk and Award Ceremony in Murray Bridge.

Walkers gathered across the bridge and made their way to the Local Government Centre where there was a flag raising and award ceremony.

The awards recognised local Indigenous People who were kicking goals in their respective fields.

At the end of the celebration attendees stuck around for a morning tea and weaving workshops.

The Coomandook community gathered at Coomandook Area School recently to celebrate NAIDOC Week.

The July 3 event saw students and community members gather to learn about the Ngarkat and Ngarrindjeri People and Indigenous cultures as a whole.

After watching excerpts from Nunga Screen 2025, students split into groups for art projects including weaving, beading and scratch art.

A community barbecue cooked by the Coomandook Amalgamated Pastime Club finished the afternoon.
