7K for Grant Lovering 🏃‍♂️‍➡️

Grant Lovering - 7000 Runs

Recently, in a T20 clash against Adelaide Uni, Grant passed 7,000 runs for Goodwood CC since joining the club in 2001 from Southern Districts.

Affectionately known as “turtle,” Grant (a six-time premiership player) has been a constant presence across the top grades at Goodwood Oval for more than two decades. From ATCA A1 through to now in A3, he’s built a reputation as a reliable run-maker and a key pillar at the top of the order.

Grant’s 11 runs last weekend against Grange elevated him past David Lee into all-time 8th Run scorer only 260 behind Ian Jaggard.

Like a fine wine, Grant continues to get better with age with runs flowing. Last season was his most productive with the willow, amassing 716 runs, the 12th highest tally for the club. With a highest score of 143 against Grange last year and three centuries to his name across 25 seasons, there’s still plenty more runs to come.

Congratulations Grant on 7,000 runs and hope to see 8,000 soon. 🩵💙🦘🐢

A hugely exciting part of our 2026 playing group has arrived, the first instalment of our school leavers from the Class of 2025!

Whilst the Dragons welcomes players from anywhere, without a junior club we rely on school leavers to help propel our numbers. We think the class of 2025 to be the largest intake of Dragons ever from school and we cannot wait to see them all and introduce you to them!
 
Our first group are enjoying their first couple of session as an Old Scholar Dragon!

Against all expectations, South Australia’s young under-19 cricket squad has claimed the national title, the first since Travis Head led them to victory 13 years ago.

A couple of shots from last nights ripping opening round in the Alexandra & Eastern Hills Cricket on a very warm afternoon. The sunset small similarities to the colours and shadows of mountain or rock photography. Incidentally the Nairne Oval will host next years Hills Grand Final hence why it’s looking so great as the grounds committee plan for a big year at both the Razors and Rams.
