We have rewound the tape and have the lead up to Saturday’s controversial MANKAD.
You can clearly see the ball before there was an issue and the bowler had pointed it out to the umpire. Quite clearly the Bowler pointed to the line, now we don’t have stump mic yet, but I’m told on good authority, as you can hear in my Commentary the “leaving the crease” was the issue. We weren’t sure in the Comm box as you can fully understand.
So this has divided our audience and everyone has an opinion, AND LET ME ADD, IF YOU DO COMMENT keep it respectful and no bad language.
𝐈𝐧 𝐒𝐮𝐦𝐦𝐚𝐫𝐲:
MANKAD is a Rule.
It is in the spirit of the game to kindly warn the batter, after all a close run out at the keeper’s end could be the difference in the match, getting a head start running from bowlers end.
You 𝐃𝐎𝐍’𝐓 have to warn a non striker.
This vision clearly shows it was pointed out the ball before and probably why the bowler bowled a shocker, as he watch the non striker leave his crease.
