GLÓR Project Space is beyond delighted to announce Andrew Tuttle in Residency.

In mid February Andrew will inhabit GLÓR as part of our Gone 2 Ground Residency series.

Andrew is looking forward to spending time in residence as part of GLÓR’s Gone 2 Ground program to reflect on and develop his approach to sound and music-making. While he is intentionally not over-committing to ideas ahead of time, he knows he will use the residency to work on new recordings using both his primary instrumentation and new working methods. He will also collaborate with previous Gone 2 Ground residents to re-interpret recordings made during their own time at GLÓR, in a style that reflects his own practice.

Andrew’s residence will culminate in a public showing on Feb 22nd at the space and tickets are limited.

Tickets go live this Friday.

Andrew Tuttle is a best-kept secret of the Australian musical underground – a songwriter, composer and improviser who has collaborated with Matmos, Steve Gunn, Charlie Parr, SUSS, Mike Cooper, Gwenifer Raymond, Luke Schneider and many others. Tuttle’s music exists serenely and purposefully in a space where the five-string banjo and the six-string acoustic guitar weave in and out of processed electronics. Like time-lapse photography, it unfolds its colours and textures with an astonishing gracefulness and wonderment.

Tuttle’s discography, including five solo albums and multiple collaborative projects on labels including Room40, Basin Rock, Mistletone and Longform Editions, navigate as a cosmic missive into subtropical landscapes. Golden plucks of banjo, gauzy electronics and cosmic guitar shimmer into gloriously expansive melodies that conjure peace and space, comfort and wonder.

Tuttle’s release and touring schedule has included performances in revered Australian and European locations including Melbourne Recital Centre (Naarm), Meredith Music Festival, Unsound Adelaide, Cafe OTO (London), Phoenix Central Park (Sydney/Warrane), Sydney Festival, The Tivoli (Brisbane/Meanjin), Paradiso Noord (Amsterdam), MONA FOMA / Dark M**O (Hobart/nipaluna), Botanique (Brussels/Bruxelles), Galeria ZDB (Lisboa), and Brisbane Powerhouse.
