NOCTURNAL MYSTERY — THE CURRENT LINEUP

The darkness has taken a new form.

We are proud to introduce the current members of Nocturnal Mystery, each bringing their own history, experience and musical identity into the ever-evolving sound of the band.

BRYCE VANDENHOVEN — VOCALS

Bryce Vandenhoven is a vocalist, bassist, guitarist and touring musician with extensive experience on the road.

His touring history includes performances alongside extreme metal acts such as Possessed, UADA, Nunslaughter, Aeternus and Nordjevel, bringing a wealth of live experience and uncompromising intensity to the Nocturnal Mystery ritual.

DEVIN ALLEN — BASS

Devin Allen brings his experience as a bassist and former member of Absent Mind AL, a band formed in 2017 whose debut album, Cold Fragile and Numb, established the foundation of his musical journey.

Now, Devin joins Nocturnal Mystery to provide the low-end pulse beneath the darkness.

FABIO CERUSICUS — GUITAR

Fabio Cerusicus is a studio guitarist and producer whose work has taken him deep into the international black metal underground.

His experience includes contributions to recordings, guitar solos, arrangements and full productions with numerous international projects, including Tryglav, Daidalos, I Sorg and Margantha.

Fabio has also collaborated on multiple albums with a former guitarist of Vasco Rossi's band, as well as working on a studio project with Andy La Rocque of King Diamond and Death at Sonic Train Studio in Sweden.

His live experience includes opening for Nargaroth, Stormlord, Noctem, Furor Gallico, Inner Shrine and In Tormentata Quiete.

HARRY MASON — DRUMS

Harry Mason is a drummer and composer from the Central Coast of New South Wales, Australia, whose musical career spans jazz, blues, indie and extreme metal.

Active as a performer since his mid-teens, Harry has spent years performing in clubs, bars and jazz venues across Australia, developing a musical approach built upon intensity, adaptability and depth.

Alongside projects including The Odd Mods and Build Your Horses, Harry has continually explored new creative territory.

Nocturnal Mystery represents his most recent evolution into conceptual black metal, combining narrative, atmosphere and extreme sound into a world of darkness, vampirism and occult mystery.

📚 A NEW NOVEL FROM DORIAN MODE

My dad, Dorian Mode, has just released his latest novel, "Somewhere Under the Rainbow" 🌈

And if you’re looking for something genuinely funny, strange and unmistakably Australian, this one sounds like quite a ride.

The story follows an American entrepreneur who arrives in an isolated outback town on the outskirts of Darwin with a seemingly simple plan: 'establish a call centre.'

There’s just one problem.

To convincingly speak to American customers, the locals are expected to become Americans themselves. They adopt American accents, American customs and even American time zones.

Before long, the entire town has its sleep schedule upside down, nobody is quite sure what country they’re living in anymore, and a supposedly straightforward business venture begins to unravel into something considerably more absurd.

Along the way, you’ll encounter a cast of characters who probably should never have been put in the same room, alongside philosophy, cultural clashes, questionable decisions and plenty of wonderfully Australian absurdity.

At its heart, "Somewhere Under the Rainbow" plays with the collision between 'American optimism and Australian scepticism', the bizarre ways human beings communicate, and what happens when a grand idea meets the wonderfully unpredictable reality of outback Australia.

Dorian is an experienced writer and has previously had two successful novels published by Penguin, so this latest book is another chapter in a rather impressive writing career.

If you enjoy satire, Australian humour, eccentric characters and stories that take a perfectly reasonable idea and drive it straight off the road, this might be one for you.

After many, many, years of procrastinating, I finally have almost finished the full-length album for "The Morning Star".

All 11 tracks are completely original songs I originally composed for my Bachelor of Composition body of work at The Australian Institute of Music between 2015-2017.

I've recently transcribed, re-recorded and written new arrangements each composition with a darker and melancholier vibe
