⛰️I’ve travelled to and from the high-country in Subaru’s since I was a kid. They’re great on the highway, dirt and snow.

❄️Being All-Wheel-Drive, they’re exempt from the requirement to carry snow-chains in Kosciuszko National Park.

🎥 For info, my drone use was authorised by NPWS. I operated under strict conditions to ensure the public and wildlife were not disturbed.

How to Car Camp When it’s Freezing🥶

🚙I’m driving the all-new Subaru Australia Outback Wilderness. With 240mm ground clearance it’s Subaru’s most off-road capable vehicle ever.

⛺️The roof tent is an ARB 4x4 Accessories Intrepid 2.0. It’s 1400mm wide but there’s a narrower 1285mm version and wider 1600mm version available to match your space needs and/or size of your vehicle. Mine weighs 82.5kg.

☃️If a -5C rated sleeping bag is not enough you can;

-get a lower rated bag
-double up (two bags, one inside the other)
-add a doona and/or blankets
-wear warm clothing (down jacket, pants, beanie and thick socks is what I use. Ignore the persistent incorrect theory that wearing clothes in your bag makes you colder).

How to Ski⛷️

I’m skiing at Perisher where I used to teach, which in my opinion has the best ski terrain for beginners (particularly the Blue Cow beginner area) than anywhere else I’ve been (including overseas).
