A standout moment was the fireside chat with:
✨ Leighton Warwick — Joint MD, Warwick Fabrics & IABCA Alumni

Together, we explored global leadership, creativity, and what it takes to take an Australian brand into India’s layered and dynamic market.

Thank you to our partners, Deakin University, our board, alumni and the IABCA ecosystem for closing the year with purpose and connection.

Celebrating innovation and compassion in medical science 🩺✨
Congratulations to Associate Professor Sanjay Warrier , one of Sydney’s leading breast cancer surgeons and the winner of the 2025 IABCA Science, Research & Development Award.
Sanjay is recognised for his pioneering contributions to breast cancer surgery — introducing robotic breast surgery (a first in the Southern Hemisphere), championing SPY technology for reconstruction, and utilising 3D printing for surgical planning.
He also introduced SCOUT technology to Australia — a wire-free method for tumour detection that enhances precision, improves patient comfort, and delivers better clinical outcomes than traditional hook-wire techniques. As the lead author of Australia’s first cost-effectiveness analysis on this innovation, Sanjay continues to shape the future of surgical practice and research.
His leadership as Research Lead at RPA’s Institute of Academic Surgery and Associate Professor at the University of Sydney drives national collaboration, including a groundbreaking registry on Targeted Axillary Dissection (TAD) — a less invasive approach transforming cancer care in Australia.
A heartfelt thank you to Trudi Busch, Chief Marketing Officer, HomeWorld for presenting this award, and to the HomeWorld Group of Companies for their valued partnership and ongoing support.

The India Australia Business & Community Awards exists to celebrate the India-Australia relationship whilst simultaneously contributing to its development.
By working in conjunction with State Governments on a rotational policy, IABCA has achieved international recognition as a tool for cultural diplomacy, bilateral trade development and as a platform for Australia’s business and
Indian diaspora to better engage with one another and their Governments.
From strategically channelled tourism initiatives to the promotion of trade and investment operations between India and Australia, IABCA has served its Government partners to develop their relations with India as well as the burgeoning Indian communities that reside across Australia.
IABCA is now a flagship event in the Australian business events calendar since 2013. The pedigree of the platform has only become higher since its inception in 2014. IABCA Finalists and Winners are annually recognised in the Hansard, which is the official record of the proceedings of the Australian Parliament.
Since 2015, IABCA Winner names are inscribed in the Australian National Maritime Museum Marble Welcome Wall, a permanent testament to the significance of their contribution to Australia.
In 2016, IABCA featured as a successful model and case study in the Australian Council of Learned Academics report; Australia’s Diaspora Advantage: Realising the potential for building transnational business networks with Asia, a Federal Government initiative.
In 2017, 2018 and 2019 IABCA was pleased to have representation at its events from Office of the Prime Minister of Australia and the Opposition Leader as well as both Excellencies, High Commissioner of India to Australia and the High Commissioner of Australia to India.
The annual IABCA initiative is a welcome sign of how far relations between Australia and India have evolved. The IABCA initiative directly contributes to the Australia India objectives of promoting a broader and deeper relationship between the two countries as it showcases success stories of existing Indian Australian investment and recognition of these success stories to Indian decision-makers.
IABCA currently has a growing Alumni of 1400 from across Australia and India.
