My name is Meek Jamieson and I run the local Aboriginal program karati kani (friends talk) at 98.9 Tygafm - Derwent Valley Tasmania. I acknowledge the Tasmanian Aboriginal Community as the traditional and continuous custodians of lutruwita on which we broadcast from. I pay respects to my elders, past present and emerging, and those that did not make elder status.

I am new to radio presenting, but not new to the Aboriginal community, hence why I have taken on the role at TygaFM. I aim to highlight achievements of Tasmanian Aboriginal people, in the field of:
Music and the arts
Story telling and politics
Knowledge sharers
Local activities and events
Health, youth and well being
Aboriginal employment opportunities
Sports and athletics
Language and History

Hoping to have a guest speakers most weeks (if applicable). Happy to take requests and cheerios and a kani (yarn) to go with it. If there is an Aboriginal person who is doing great things, don't forget to dob them in for a kani (talk) on the radio. Each week I plan to keep you all updated with:
A copy of that weeks playlist with Youtube links
An edited version of the interviews with our guest speakers. Any relevant links re; topics discussed on the show. It is an community radio station after all, so any suggestions of ideas and people and want to highlight anything amazing they are doing then dob them in, and we'll give them a call for a kani (talk). With great sadness, on behalf of his son Chad Jnr and daughter Janelle, I announce the passing of the Sheik of Scrubby Creek” - Chad Morgan , today 11/02/1933 - 01/01/2025.
91 years young.
He is now with his beloved wife Joanie.
