7 SHARKS TODAY!!!!!!
So. I have had a fair few msgs about the amount of stuff I’ve been posting in the lake when it comes to shark fishing. 99% of it is positive and people absolutely love it as it shows them the truth about the system we all love and live.
There’s been the usual stuff that doesn’t phase me, but I’ve had a few people saying that they usually come up here with the kids for holidays and swim everyday in the lake through the summer and now they are worried. there’s been a couple of people sooking about me making them associate boats with food 😏.
The only one that genuinely concerns me is people asking me if it’s safe to swim in certain places.
I can not answer it honestly. I don’t know the answer and I’m not comfortable with having that kind of responsibility put on me, if I said yes, and someone got bitten, I would never get over it.
I’m just a fisherman who is blessed to have the platform i have, and live the life that I live and have worked out how to find sharks in the lake with good mates over the last 15 years. Unfortunately I can not tell you where they (won’t) be.
I can tell you, from 8am until 11am seems to be my most productive time to hook them in the mornings, and 3pm through until midnight in the afternoons. Murky water means nothing anymore, we have caught more bull sharks in crystal clear water 2m deep than we have in muddy water.
In winter, I find most of my sharks from wangi right down to the southern end of the lake as the water is a few degrees warmer. In summer, they spread out and they are where ever they want to be so I fish where ever I can find bait.
Hammerheads are not a great worry as they are very flighty and have small”ish” teeth.
Bull sharks are like a 300kg Chihuahua with the attitude of a thousand wasps who just had their nest knocked down, hence the reason I will never release one intact in the lake, they usually turn up from October and stay until may.
Now that that’s out of the way, these posts are never made to worry or scare people, it’s genuinely a shark jaw prep/fishing/content page and my full time work, people love the capture side of it and the sharks are there no matter if I’m posting about them or not, I do however, understand the point of the few members of the public that these posts are starting to worry. I will not continue to post daily about lake Mac anymore.
I still have a few clips I’ll post over the next few days, but will focus back on the beach and rivers again.
I’ll still post the odd sneaky one in here but break it up between other posts as well.
As usual, all the full videos and fun stuff will be posted in the subscriber page like normal.
This is only to stop the genuine anxiety within a few people as it’s never been my intention to drive people off this magic lake.
Anyway, if you got through all of that. Here’s some pics from a wild day on the lake Today, it was absolutely insane, with sharks swimming around my boat all morning and being able to hand feed them when ever I wanted to.
CHEERS to you all
