The beast behind the BULLS!!!!!

I thought I’d answer the question I get asked every day lately.

Here’s the boat we chase the bull sharks out of, she is a production made brooker discovery 5m tiller steer with a 60hp Yamaha on the back.

We cop a lot of crap about the boat being to small and not being safe to shark fish out of and to be honest, they are probably not completely wrong, but the boys I fish with make it as safe as it gets.

We loaded the sides with foam and the floor, so if it ever goes over, it will never go down, but the truth is that this little thing is incredibly stable and punches well above her weight class.

There has never been a time offshore where it’s felt unsafe and we have been concerned.

It’s not about the boats, as much as it is about the set ups, keep your weight down low and your flotation up high. Have weight up the front to match the power down the back and as cliche as it is, if you’re not confident, don’t do it.

We love fishing out of small boats for big fish as we feel more people can relate to it as not everyone (including us) can just afford to blow 200k on a boat to destroy on sharks, so we love to show how capable these little boats are if set up right and run by a confident crew!!!!
We have recently even had 2 offers of sponsorship which included new big name fiberglass boats in excess of 20ft but we turned them down as this is where we are happy and comfortable.

Even when the day comes that the tinny lets go and folds up like the oversized tin can she is, we will be looking for another small boat to do up and start all over.

To many people in fishing make it seem out of reach to accomplish certain goals, anything’s within reach, you just may not be as comfortable doing it 😂.

Hopefully that explains a bit and helps people understand why we do what we do, once again, cheers to the best bunch of legends on social media!!!!!

Well a 40 degree day for us means GET TO WORK!!!!!!
We had a very productive day today getting a heap of these Jaw on the boards and a few more in soaking, will be a late finish tonight but good to get a start on this lot, one more lot to go after This and that’s is for a part of the business where I get stuck doing them all them time.

The new part will be getting them from commercial fisherman all over the country to do up and give everyone the opportunity to own a set for themselves.

Here’s the wife’s first time shark fishing with me!!!!!

There were still kids in the water when we caught this one.

She done great on the gaffs and for someone that doubts her ability to do this kind of thing, she showed some of the seasoned fishos up on the hand gaffs, no fear, just knew what she had to do and got it done in under a minute.

As usual the haters won’t be able to keep their opinions to themselves but anyone who knows fishing, knows how well she done on this bullshark!!!!

It’s not always smoother sailing!!!!!

I guess we all like to show the successes when we post on these platforms, but in reality, that’s not how things work in real
Life. Over the years we are lucky and have a very high percentage of success when we hook fish but here’s one that didn’t go to plan.

As usual, I look forward to the comments telling us what we did wrong from people that have only ever fished with bread and a float 😉!!!!

The teeth are perfect and this is a bit of a demo of just how sharp they are, imagine that with a ton of bite force behind it and you can see why they are so dangerous!!!!

As you can see in this video, it bites before it is even touched.

This shows they are a reaction feeder, no mistaken identity, no “you looked like a seal” it is genuinely a case of wrong place, wrong time, if your in the way of one of these things and it bumps into you, you are unfortunately getting bit!!!!!!

The best part about chasing bull sharks is that they don’t EVER travel alone, if you get one, tidy everything up and get the next rod out because chances are, your going to get another couple.
Unfortunately we lost the one this girl was swimming with.

Here’s a bit of the trace footage from the bull shark Kristy caught on Friday arvo.

It was her first time ever, i explained to her I will be talking, loud, fast and clear, so she can hear what’s happening over the adrenaline rush she was about to experience for the first time.

This was such a proud moment, she done exceptionally well and had 2 gaffs in the shark in no time.

PROUD HUSBAND MOMENT!!!!!!!

So as everyone knows. Kristy always looks after the behind the scene stuff when it comes to the business.

We have never actually shark fished together before until now. My old girl watched our daughter for a night so we decided to get out for a fish and see if we could get Kristy her first bull shark.

It didn’t take long. Within 10 minutes of being there we hooked one but lost it. Another 20 minutes later we were on again, it was a quick 10 minute fight, Kristy done unreal for her first time on the game gear and she done exceptionally well on the gaffs, no fear, no hesitation, just determination to get the job done and she made it look like she had done it a thousand times.

Well done wifey, first one down and hopefully, many more to come, couldn’t be happier with our new choice of date nights 😂.
