A man aged in his 20s is in a serious but stable condition at John Hunter Hospital after being reportedly injured in a workplace incident in Kurri Kurri this afternoon.

4:30pm: All southbound lanes of the Pacific Highway are now closed at The Lakes Way in Rainbow Flat, just south of Taree, due to a car crash at Coolongolook this afternoon.

Southbound motorists in light vehicles are being diverted off the highway at The Lakes Way, to return to the highway at Bulahdelah.

The southbound lane of the Pacific Highway at Coolongolook is closed following a crash involving two cars this afternoon with northbound traffic also effected.

Heavy vehicles are being parked as emergency services remain on the scene, ongoing police investigations are expected to take some time.

The M1 Pacific Highway between Ewingsdale Road and Tamarind Drive is closed southband due to a two car crash with emergency services still on the scene.

Southbound motorists within the closure are forming one lane and using the slow shoulder to pass the crash site and ongoing police investigations are expected to take some time.
