Sadly, Gloria Rocha, known as the godmother of Latin American dubbing, has passed away today… on her birthday.

She was the driving force behind the iconic Latin American dubs of Dragon Ball, Sailor Moon, Slam Dunk, Digimon Adventure, and Sakura Card Captors.

She also personally selected the voices for legendary characters, including choosing Mario Castañeda as Goku and René García as Vegeta, and lent her own voice to Miss Piggy, Velma from Scooby-Doo, and Tweety.
