This could well be one of the first 360 8K renders out of SuperSplat using a large scale 3DGS model: Thanks to the amazing team at SuperSplat ( Will Eastcott, Donovan Hutchence) and their quick deployment of features has seen this from a simple feature request only a few days ago to what's now in the actual pipeline for the main release soon.

Now there is pathways to RealityScan 2.2, allowing for accurate hybrid image datasets reprocessing, pathways to the amazing LichtFeld Studio, testing novel approaches with 360 and 3D180 fisheye camera, and Postshot, and whatever else you can come up with: Being able to use comprehensive scanner data that is usually locked away in proprietary formats and use this to expand workflows beyond the manufacturer's current software capability to enable hybrid workflows is refreshing. Thanks to team SHARE3DCAM to create tools that enable passionate users to follow their conviction to improve their game. And this is truly a situation where everyone benefits:

Broaden Your Horizon: SuperSplat can now render splats to 360 videos (this is has now been folded into the main tree on GitHub and should hit release shortly, thanks to Will Eastcott). Currently limited to 60fps and 4K, but I would expect this to improve shortly over time. Why is this important? Because if you can render this in the browser with a WebGPU, then at some point you should be able to stream this to a VR headset, perhaps even in 3D, live.

Been wondering what the fuss was all about? Queens Wharf is now walkable, as a 3D Digital Twin, now with mesh, as a record of a moment in time: Work to demolish Queens Wharf West will begin in July, signalling the start of the next chapter for one of Newcastle’s most iconic waterfront precincts (see council link in comments)

Buildings of significance deserve a good future: Faster tenders, better quotes and better outcomes for everyone with the help of rapid LiDAR 3D scanning and Digital Twins. This model here has over 48 Million colour points and was converted into a 3D gaussian splat you can freely play with on Supersplat (link in comments below):

Originated from ShareC1 LiDAR SLAM scanner high density (37Mil) point cloud and onboard cameras, approx. 2600sqm.
Processed with PointCloud Studio (beta) to 5M Gaussians.
Whilst this is early days Beta, it clearly shows the potential for Digital Twins when it comes to creating engaging content for public consultation, showcasing of as-built environments, etc. I will share the actual 3D model at a later date.
