There are moments in this work that really stay with you.
Sitting with John as he shared memories of the Brisbane Line and digging slit trenches in the schoolyard during the war, it’s hard to imagine, but for him, it was just life at the time.

It’s a genuine privilege to meet people like John. To listen, to learn, and to help preserve these stories so they’re not lost.

NSW's and Newcastle rally legend Peter Houghton has just celebrated his 90th birthday.

Peter’s passion for rallying has always been about driving everything, from MGs and Ford Capris to Peugeots and Datsuns, and not on too many main roads, old alignments and shire roads was always the preferred route. That curiosity for the back roads shaped a lifetime in the sport.

I had the privilege of recording some of Peter’s life stories a few years ago, so it was a pleasure to be invited to his 90th celebration with fellow rallying identities.

Above all, Peter is an absolute gentleman, always willing to lend a hand.
