Boom Books is now ALMOST open for business. This family business sells 34 Titles that cover 34 years of Australian Social History from 1939 to 1972.
The books are written in a conversational style, about 184 A5 pages, and printed with somewhat larger print, especially for the older readers. They describe what it was like living in this country as the years rolled on. All the major stories are covered, together with the many ideas and surprises that added to the excitement and folly.
The books are fairly priced at $20 per copy, and are cheaper here than anywhere else in the nation. The Specials below (the BIG-Os for next year) are the best value in town.

I'm back selling books after that nasty episode at the ginger factory. I have a SPECIAL for you. My hard-cover books are grouse, in fact, extra grouse.
They are on sale until October 31 at about the same price as my soft-cover books. They are things of beauty, sound and dependable, and best for Christmas presents for special people.

I went back to the ginger factory at Buderim. The assaultive villains were both still there, and I wanted to bash their heads in as revenge. But it turned out unsatisfactory. I am not gruntled.
The problem was that, from Press reports, they knew I was coming. So they were charming, even to children, and perfectly behaved. We had a talk, they were full of apologies, and promises for the future. I could neither fault them nor bash them. You can imagine how badly I felt.
So I left them alone.
I do not believe them one bit . I will go back soon, unannounced, and catch them at it again. Then whammo.
So, wait for it. Justice is nigh.

Today, at last, I am going back to the Ginger factory at Buderim. I have delayed out of a mixture of trepidation and mercy. Trepidation because I might get my block knocked off. Mercy because those two sailors might get their blocks knocked off. And I don't really want that.
What I want, I suppose, is an apology and a sincere promise of good behaviour in the future.
In any case, I am going today. Not sneaking up on them, in fact metaphorically bearing roses. But if they do not craven it out, whamo. It will be on for all.

You might remember that a month ago I was assaulted at the Buderim ginger factory. I vowed that, after recovery, I would go back and exact revenge.
I am about to do just that, tomorrow. I have argued that I should forget it, and be Christian, and turn the other cheek. But I am not like that, when riled. I want blood, and mayhem, and craven toothless apologies.
So beware. Tomorrow I will send photos, and I hope to shock you with scenes of justice triumphant.

A few months ago I showed you a message of me getting bashed by a couple of thugs at the ginger factory at Umundi. I enclose a reminder photo of the dreadful scene. At the time, I vowed to go back and extract vengeance and teeth.
Now, I am going back. In a few days. This time it will be a fair fight, and this time I expect to come away with a couple of apologies to gloat over. Mercy plus forgiveness is a good thing, but a craven apology is much better.

THE GREATLY UNWASHED.
Jenny and I now live in an old tin hut on the edge of Newcastle Harbour. We used to live in a nice unit, not far away. Then we started our book-publishing business, and filled one, and then two, and finally three bedrooms with books. To make more room, we first threw out our two children, then the dried floral arrangement on the piano, and then the piano. After that, we published a few more Titles, and so we had to go too.
But I have been talking to a whiz kid who told me I could avoid more problems by using Print On Demand instead of printing big runs. So, the good news is that I can get rid of most of my stocks, and have my first shower in three years. That is nice.
It's nice for you too. I am putting all of my Titles on sale on eBay until the end of this month. At only $8 a copy, they won't last long. They can be used for your immediate needs, like Christmas, and for a stockpile for next year

1948 was available in a previous version, and is now completely re-written.
