We are live and cutting boulder opal come on down!!! Photos cropped deliberately for privacy !
Edit: The day was very successful, and Barry the builder of the marvellous trolly was as happy as a pig in mud hehehe 🤣 !! Awesome work Barry!! If you don’t know, he was the creator of this project to give a safe and open space for our boulder cutters to make as much mud as they like to reveal the precious colour bars beneath .

The trolley is able to be used in any of our lapidary sessions - sat 1-4pm, tue 6.30-9pm and Thur 9am - 12 noon.

Boulder Opal cutting anyone?? 🪨⛏️🪏🪨

On Saturday 20/9/25 at 10.45am Barry will again be instructing members on how to use the new outdoor Boulder Opal cutting and grinding trolley.

Last Saturday we had 7 people come along to learn the ropes. Even if you don’t have Boulder, the trolley is great for all muddy work. See photos for an example of Chrysoprase on matrix getting cleaned up.

Box Trim Saw for Sale - $850

Big enough to easily cut Agate Creek Agates in half or trim Cabochon material down to size, this Box Trim Saw (originally purchased from Lapidary Slab Supplies) has an 8 inch thin Lapidary saw blade, and a modified guard that includes water taps, tubing and adapter to connect to a garden hose. I also modified the box waste valve to take a tube so the wastewater can empty into a bucket instead of filling up the box.
It is in as new condition; I can bring the Trim Saw along to the AGM if anyone is interested in buying it. New similar saws are now $1300+

Hi all,

Just a friendly reminder that it’s all back on again at the Mitchelton & Districts Gem Club this Thursday (16th of Jan),

We will be having a lovely morning tea at 10am with lots of rocks on sale upstairs.
We will be opening the workshop at 9am-12pm as per usual.

We’d love to see you all there!

Thank you very much again to all the volunteers that helped us get the club back online. We would not have been able to do it without all of your help.

Kind regards,

Elise
